What were the scores again? Like 7-2 and 5-1?
- arichardson22

Yeah, we shelled them pretty good. 1.5 GAA is pretty solid.

It would have to be a deep run and Lindblom would have to be showing some pop in practice.

Honestly, IMO I think he is here more symbolic and to pump the team up then anything. But the black and orange in me wants it to happen so bad. For his sake.

- peesinwind

Not just for his sake. Can you even imagine the boost his teammates would get? And besides, if he is actually the player that he was, that talent and positioning is nothing to sneeze at.

On an unrelated note, I am surprised how skinny Alex Lyon''s legs are. I did not know a professional athlete at the highest level could have such skinny legs.

Looking at future match ups,

If we win one more, we cannot end up lower than 3rd in the conference.

Based on the way the other series are going, I think Pens beat MT, Canes are handling Rangers, Isles likely win over FL, and the only crapshoot is Leafs/BJs.

The likely match-ups for us then are:

If we finish

First: likely Toronto/BJs
Second: likely Isles
Thirds: Likely Carolina
4th: Likely Pens

With NYR eliminated and I'm assuming Isles over Panthers, I have it as follows (regardless of who ends up 1-4);
#1 vs. Leafs/Jackets or Habs (if beat Pitts)
#2 vs. Isles Leafs/Jackets
#3 vs. Canes or Isles
#4 vs. Pens (if beat Habs)/Canes

Am I correct?

Other factors I see as well. Moose beat Wash on the road during that hot streak prior to the shut down. Tampa is the more dangerous team IMO so Hart gets that one.

Winning that top seed doesn't mean all that much. Just about how you are playing going into the first round.

Good point but I'm not even concerned with match-ups. I'd rather get Moose playing time now and let Hart get his final tune-up closer to the playoff start date regardless of opponent.

Yep.

Anyone think the Panthers can work some sort of miracle in their series?

I should never count anyone out before it's over but Isles are playing well. They scare me. Trotz has them playing well. That would be a good match-up.

They are reseeding each round too, so they're will be different scenarios. Should be interesting.

But there was a lot of definition in those stilts.

There is no easy way out of this dilemma. If Moose plays tomorrow, then Hart plays after 6 days against a potent club. Lets say he gets shelled. What does that do for his confidence entering playoffs.

How about 2 periods Moose and then Hart tomorrow?

- PT21

Hart is inevitably going to face bad games in this playoff and in future big games. If he is going to be a top goaltender, he has to develop a short memory and bounce back. It would be an opportunity for him to gain experience and to grow from if and when it happens. I personally don't think it will drastically affect his confidence. They have to get Elliott some playing time. It's not a difficult situation nor is it a dilemma.

The re-seeding is just based on final regular season points percentage, right? Nothing to do with playoff games won.

Right. The number of your seed does not change once it is established. They just did away with the brackets. The highest seed will always play the worst remaining seed.

Fletcher has already said it’s not out of the question to see Oskar on the ice this post season so I hope the flyers can go on a deep run and time will tell if Oskar will play

If I recall correctly it was that ability to bounce right back from a tough outing that Hexy said he really liked about the young Carter Hart when he drafted him.

Except the top 4 get to keep their new RR seed throughout?

Edit: How does that work again the West for the Final? Who has the higher seed?

Anyone think the Coyotes can beat the Preds? I do hope that they will be the lucky winner of the 1st draft pick should they lose their series.

Agreed. I don't think there are too many examples of a goalie that went through 4 rounds of SC playoffs and won without having had a at least one bad game. And I think Hart's short term memory is one of his greatest assets. Will be fun to watch him grow and become dominant as we expect.

That would be based on regular season point percentage. That is why TB is listed ahead of the Flyers in the standings.

I guess I wasn’t properly paying attention to the full playoff reseeding potentials when it came out, just giddy that playoffs were coming.

Thanks! To confirm, the RR seed is for the first round matchups only?

Tampa is listed ahead of the Flyers because THE ONLY TIE BREAKER IS REGULAR SEASON POINTS PERCENTAGE! They both have 2 points so tie breaker goes to Tampa.
Flyers can only get first seed if they win out or 2 wins with an OT loss. Any tie is lost. One more win and they move up 1 or 2 spots. Most likely to second spot. Be easier to figure after today's game.

Edit: pretty sure the seeding is for the entire playoffs.
