So why haven't NHL'ers been kneeling for the human rights violations from China, or the sweat shops in Indonesia and Vietnam where all there personalized brands are being manufactured? I think it's a load of crap that they are kneeling and the excuse that they are using a anarchist political movement group to voice that opinion, it has no room as paying customers who pay the @NHL to watch games but are subjected to have to watch a bunch of millionaires whom a majority of lived in middle class homes and had nothing to do with the disparities of the world, why aren't they protesting at Nike, Under Armour, or any of the NBA's sneaker factories in South East Asia for there slave labour?

The soft bigotry of low expectations. A good number of my friends of the persuasion you speak could not disagree with you more.

How do you explain that MILLIONS of black Americans and other minorities that have found success and affluence in society? .

- TrueGrit

Millions of Jews survived and flourished in Europe through pogroms, and the Shoah.

That systemic racism exists in all the democrat run liberal utopias who have destroyed more human potential with their moronic policies. The primary policy is lack of responsibility and accountability for ones actions. They sold this bill of goods to generations in hopes that one day they would rise up and be their cannon fodder in their marxist revolution. Much to the dismay of these moronic leaders, the majority of the idiots lining up are spoiled white kids. Most minorities see thru the nonsense.

But as far as it plays out in taking a knee and the mental gymnastics the dip poop athletes engage in to appear cool, these idiots, like the other sports, are poopting where they eat. They jump on a political bandwagon and say its not political.

Hockey is the only sport that has a chance and they can't help themselves. They walked a thin line with the Canadien dumbass taking a knee for the American Anthem, while standing for his "black face" PM Trudeau.

In the end, they all have the freedom to do what they want. No one questions that. But as fans we have the freedom to spend our time and financially support whatever we want as well.

Most of these guys are like Christmas and Easter Christians, who only show up to church when the lights are brightest. Let me know when the NBA, BLM, MLB, NFL, Lebron, Lehner or any other athlete dippoop acknowledges or says or where's a shirt with the name of the latest 5 year old mowed down in Chicago or any other liberal utopia. They will never do it or even acknowledge it.

They sit in their ivory towers encouraging people to riot and destroy and to remove the police, while being staffed by private security.

There is a big world with a lot of history that many can learn from. This story has been played out many times. It always ends the same.

- TrueGrit

This is a rant which I will ignore.

In 2 or 3 years, baseball will be lucky to have the salaries they had in the 70s. The NBA is selling their soul to China in hopes of a pay day. The NFL will be flag football before too long. Nobody will support any of it.

- TrueGrit

Patrick Mahomes with the 500m contract says hi.

Money in sports is not going anywhere, Mr. True Grit. There are 2 billion people in Asia who are rapidly prospering and have a huge appetite for North American sports. You mentioned China. India is just a deal waiting to be struck.

There has never been a country that has advanced the common good or more people, that has provided unparalleled opportunity and social advancement than the USA. All these athletes are living proof, but many seem to dumb to realize it.

- TrueGrit

By no stretch of the imagination will I ever say that the US is a horrible country, with all its problems. It is one of the best places in the world to live.

Having said that, your comment is stupid and cliched. It relies on stereotypes, not data. Even ignoring our history of slavery and genocide of Native Indians, we are now one of the worst countries for the poor to better themselves (see www.epi.org/publication/u...s-peer-countries-mobility/.

This is no longer the country of Horatio Alger, except in the minds of people like you who obstinately fail to reconcile reality with your outdated fancies.

Listen to the comments of their leaders and look at the actions they've taken during "peaceful protests". That they haven't been officially designated a domestic terrorist group is purely due to politics. They clearly are.

Richardskin and Lehner are exhibit A and B when it comes to athletes being dumbpoops. Talk about tone deaf. Do your homework guys.

There has never been a country that has advanced the common good or more people, that has provided unparalleled opportunity and social advancement than the USA. All these athletes are living proof, but many seem to dumb to realize it.

Sports has always been a place for us to come and escape the chaos of our everyday lives. Now the chaos is amplified by some of the least informed. Firing out hashtags and retweeting is hardly activism or the means to any change, that is all the energy most of the kneelers can expend.

Lastly, there is no doubt that there are and will always be issues related to race and ethnicity. So long as there is limited opportunity and resources, there always will be. The vast majority of people in the USA treat people fairly and recognize the progress that has occurred in this country. It will never be perfect, but to suggest that somehow it has not gotten progressively better over time is pure ignorance and lacks any historical perspective. Guys like Dumba and others, who I believe have their heart in the right place, would do so much more if they actually added to the discourse and spoke specifically about issues, instead of casting a net and broad stroke painting most of society with broad generalizations, which, ironically, they resent being done to them.

- TrueGrit

Well said

Racism is so profitable for them. Politically and financially. Do you really think they want to put an end to it?

Not a chance

And the timing of it all 100% has to do with the fact it's an election year. They use the exact same playbook every 4 years in hopes to sway votes

Second, you have again come up with the usual nonsense about liberal utopia and rising crime. Allow me to direct you about "skyrocketing crime rates".

There seems to be a reading comprehension issue on your part. No where in the post you quoted was it stated that crime is rising or skyrocketing.

This is the normal far left liberal response when confronted with reason and fact. You failed with your petulant and childish rant. The Black Live Matter movement has a Marxist ideology. That's a fact.
- MJL

How so? Marxism boils down to class struggle and vastly ignores race and gender, lots of people have built on his ideas, but the struggle for safety from police is pretty far from labour/capital. Kinda sounds like you’re out of your depth here.

The media and now sports is forcing BLM down everybody's throats. Lots of us watch sports to get away from politics. It's amazing that the NHL is teaming up w a group that calls for Cops to die and destruction of property. I hope all sports take a financial hit because of their embracing the BLM?

A Marxist might say, BLM is being turned into for-profit capital gain. It has brand and selling power. But hey, there seems to be many Marx scholars on here so dont let me tell you

Here is a line from the post I responded to.

"States have reduced penalties for burglaries and have seen the rates for those skyrocket, eliminate cash bail and have seen crime rates skyrocket"

Why? They live in America/Canada and want them to be better. What’s wrong with that?
- neem55

Racism is NOT the main factor in determining the success of minorities.

1 parent households, neighborhood gangs, drugs, alcohol, crime and systemic apathy are reasons for keeping them down.

Where was this outrage during the Obama Presidency? He did nothing for minorities, except give them record unemployment and food stamps.

Trump? Prison reform, record employment, home and businesses ownership for minorities.

The difference between then and now is that media didn't report this then and do all they can to poo poo anything good that is done by Trump

So you focused on one small line and ignored the main theme of his post. His post clearly wasn't about skyrocketing crime. You ignored the context of his post because you have no rebuttal and instead offered a strawman.

You have just said opinions. Opinions aren’t facts. Facts come from reliable sources, there is a hierarchy of what is reliable. I see a bigot blowing smoke

was incorrect?

BLM is about adequately addressing of undue police violence to black Americans. The above is a straw man, while relevant issues not what BLM is addressing.

You're missing it. The reliable sources that the opinions are derived from are the members of the groups themselves. What they stand for and their actions. I smell a liberal playing the race card.

What has BLM done for minorities? Nothing.

What has BLM leaders done for themselves? Make millions
