Oh here we go - MJL on here to tell everyone else how it is. Buddy if you want to look at a few bad people and decide that an entire movement is bad, then that's your choice. You are free to choose.
Black people have been screaming about this for decades. Were you listening then? There are hundreds of thousands supporting the BLM movement who peacefully protest, do you support them?
The fact that you know BLM shows its working because per my earlier line, you probaby weren't listening to them before.

- InglewoodJack77

If you think it's just a few bad apples in the BLM movement than you are woefully uninformed. Knowing who someone is doesn't mean that it's working. I know who ISIS is and what have they done?

(Not insinuating or comparing BLM to ISIS in any way.)

What happens when those “few bad people” are the prominent, leading, figures of the “movement”? Have we gone this far into wacko world that communism is ok now?

don't you worship an orange skinned dippoop who never has a clue about what he's saying...............why is it okay for your messiah to be completely clueless and lost, but not anyone else?

The poster got systematically exposed yesterday, and now he is being petty. But that's not relevant anymore.

In human life, we always learn. There is nothing demeaning about being wrong. For example, my knowledge of hockey history and even of other teams is dwarfed by many posters here, mostly Canadian. I don't go around picking arguments with them, or disdain the fact they know more than I do*. I welcome it. Its fun to learn.

Similarly, a thinking person who is empirically driven would normally have a blend of opinions, some left of center, some not. I am against illegal immigration and sanctuary cities. I am against dis-inviting speakers to campus because of their conservative beliefs. I strongly believe in the aspect of entrepreneurial power of capitalism as a force that improves human lives.

I am pro-abortion, but if it turns out that brain activity of infants begins far earlier than known and they can process a sense of self and pain at conception, I will be forced to reexamine my beliefs. What (frank)ing choice would I have?

I hate the fact that if I say Trump is incompetent, it is immediately dismissed as political. Surely I can make a reasoned argument, and surely another person can listen, and look at the evidence?

Today we as a nation are in the grip of people who have substituted anger and resentment as the drivers for their political beliefs and actions.

* With one caveat. Giroux deserves to be compared to Tavares. The difference is close.

The point about Black Lives mattering is that for so much of American history, they quite demonstratively did NOT matter. A black person could be enslaved, beaten, and killed with impunity. There was literally a law on the books that designated them as 3/5 of a person (for representational purposes, but still.. Three Fifths! of a person!).

Of course all lives matter, but the point of saying that Black Lives matter is to refute the way black people have been treated in the U.S for the last 300 years, and to say that such treatment is unacceptable in this place and time.

- Doc_Sarcasm

Do you not see that you can only speak about the past with this black oppression thing and not the present? Like there’s no changing the past but the present everyone has the exact same rights, in fact there’s the opposite of systemic racism as things are set in place to hire POC just for being a POC.

Again, if it was well documented, you'd have evidence. I'll gladly take some time to look into these claims, but you made a claim and told me to go find evidence of your claim. At this point, you have only stated opinion and provided no evidence to prove your claims.

Though I am also glad to see you want the KKK listed as a terrorist group.

- Pavfan13

The fact that you think BLM is a peaceful group is absolutely hysterical to me. Everything MJL said is factual (for once in his life). If all your information comes from the mainstream media you will be led to believe people in white hoods run rampant throughout the country and BLM has peaceful protests (if you are able to close your eyes to ignore the bombs and fireworks being hurled at police, and the looting of businesses and arson of federal buildings)

I challenge you to do so. Please don't waste people's time and link the NY Times and the Washington Post. I welcome giving you more opportunity to expose yourself.

Oh yeah. Remember h1n1? Yeah most people don’t. Numbers of infection and mortality rates were diminished. I couldn’t get an n95 mask for weeks and when I did at work I was allowed one every two weeks. The hospitals had patients in the hallways and were completely overrun and I was still going to concerts and sporting events. Two of my colleagues died from swine flu. My friends sister has permanent lung damage from her infection. Over 68,000,000 Americans infected and we didn’t shut down the economy, shelter in place, etc. The contrast is incredible. Obama somehow did a great job...
- Cptmjl

Are you seriously comparing swine flu to covid??? Lmao that shows just how dull you are. You realize that they have completely different ways of being transmitted. Also many of the deaths from covid are from democrat governors from PA, NY for example putting covid patients in nursing homes!! They basically murdered those poor elderly nursing home patients and now want to blame trump. It’s hysterical how nuts the left is

In referencing the NYT and Wapo disparagingly, (which is consistent with your earlier dismissal of JAMA as being for dummies and your praise of Limbaugh as a great man) and then assuming that "everyone" shares your perspectives, you commit your usual cardinal fallacy of imecilish extrapolation (I am an imbecile, so others are too)

But more to the point, my post can be made clinically and starkly. I will focus on only one-two months this year. I will use statistics in the public domain.

Unfortunately, my Comcast connection is out now. It us supposed to be restored later this afternoon. I will need to post graphs and I cant do that pecking away on my phone.

In summary, if this thread is still extant, I will be back evening or so.

Else, remind me when an opportunity arises, on any suitable page of HB, and I will cheerfully oblige.

I can't wait. If you need to use graphs, you're wasting your time. You actually have to have factual proof. You won't be able to do it. Like I said, I relish giving you the opportunity to further expose yourself.

Giving statistics on the pandemic cannot make your case.

You are apparently unaware that both the NY Times and the Washington Post are completely biased, untrustworthy and are the propaganda arms of the Democrat party and the liberal left.

You are also incorrect that I dismissed JAMA as for dummies. What I did was point out that the article you linked to was obvious an article for non medical lay people and used simple terms instead of the actual technical terms. You used it incorrectly to try and assert your fraudulent self proclaimed medical expertise. Which has been thoroughly exposed. No doubt there is more of that to come.

You are also apparently unaware that my posting of " have a good night" was an obvious parody and sarcasm towards your unbelievable condescension and arrogance.

Just remember when I tear you down again, that you volunteered and asked for it. No worries though, you'll resort to name calling. It doesn't matter if it's hockey or anything else. The results won't change. Every response you make lacks simple common sense. It's just more indoctrinated liberal nonsense piled higher and higher.

I never thought I'd agree with someone with a topless Arnold pic.... But I 100% agree, BLM isn't peaceful at all, Either is Anifa.... Basically Marxist domestic terrorism.

They are actually transmitted in almost exactly the same way. The Coronavirus is "stickier" because of its spikes, which gives it its name (Corona=sun).

It is quite unusual among the 7 known Coronaviruses in that it resides both in the lungs and the nasal passages. That is why there is fear that though a vaccine may prevent a person getting symptoms it will not prevent it from attacking others (it will not eradicate it residing in the nose, passively and not yet in the bloodstream, and then being expelled into the air).

Later.

Thank you for the amazing point that graphs cannot convey facts.

But I will likely post it anyway, in a more opportune time. It has nothing to do with you.

As for the condescension, I do tend to be intolerant of the weak-minded obstinate set in a politically incorrect way. They cannot jeopardize the existence of others.

Again lacking common sense. Sure graphs can convey facts. Giving facts of the pandemic is not what you were challenged to provide.

It has everything to do with me. You can't stand it.

I will point out, however, that it isn't actually an Ek post.

It's a Kevin Allen post.

Ek's record remains at 57 replies - all about how we don't believe Shania Twain asked him out.

Hey Ek. Have any teams traded their #1 pick yet? Like maybe NYR made that trade last week, knowing it could only be announced later. Ouch. Would hate to be that GM who bet on his team to advance and then lose out on Byfield (Lafreniere is assumed to be going to LA).

Who decides who is apart of Black Lives Matters exactly and why isn’t a peaceful group? Anyone can put on a shirt with a lego on it. What they do after that doesn’t make them actually apart of the cause.

I am for the chant of black lives matter because they do and I’m black.

Really - How am I miss informed? Are you saying there isn't more peaceful protesters then non?
Is it because I watch the media? Do you think Canadian media is out to get Trump or wants to misinform us to help Dems in the US. Do you think other media around the globe is out to get trump too? Let me guess, I should take the red pill and literally believe that hundreds of thousand of doctors and health care workers around the globe have conspired to help the Dems and the Deepstate? Let me guess - you think a mask is against your rights too? Have you been Qwoke?
