I don't understand why there needs to be a scapegoat at all. Ceci sucked. Barrie sucked. But I think they lost because Columbus played better. Not much more to it that that. Pointing out individuals for tonight's loss seems futile.

This is what I meant by playing Columbus' game. They absolutely want the leafs to be relying on things they easily defend like cross crease passes. Shoot the (frank)ing puck, get into the crowd and make it greasy.

7 players on leafs were credited with more hits than Matthews tonight.
True - there are hits and hits, but according to the stats and good old eye test, Matthews had a meager 1 hit. That is 1 more than his normal hits/game, maybe that's why you are so confused.
