Nylander was million times better than marner. Da (frank).

Ya no.
Not at all.
Barely knew willie was out there

But in his defence.
Barely knew most leafs were out there

Matthews relies way too much on his skill, and uses his body well while protecting the puck, but he never ever hits. Always relying on the poke check makes it so much easier for opposing d-men.

Most players played ok in first period but got worse further into the game.

Putting it on Freddie is wrong. 1st shut out in the PO’s. Don’t score don’t win. 1 goal by Freddie was fine.
- Nighthawk

I'm not solely pinning it on Freddie but he does have a history of letting in soft goals when it matters most. This is an objective fact.

Nylander wears 88. Marner wears 16.

It's a simple mistake and I can see why you made it while watching the game tonight.

- mjones242

The guy hates Nylander and blames him for everything. Marner was crap tonight. I guess the 2018 playoffs were a fluke...

Nah. Willie played okay and was at least 10x better than Mitch.

Engvall is poop. He has 1g and 0a in his last 21 games. Nick Robertson was one of the few forwards who had a chance tonight. I want to see what else he can do.

- mjones242

Yeah the first 3 mins he was great

Nylander was awful. At least Mitch made some plays in the 3rd.

Neither was good tonight

I did say “ I noticed him” didn’t I?

Intensity Joel. The Leafs glide into the zone and float around looking for pretty passes. Columbus powers into the zone and gets all over the defenders. On defense, the Leafs are confused and slow. Columbus blocks the entire middle and attacks the puck carrier.

Just watch the teams play. One team looked like this was a playoff game.

- Aetherial

Bang on. Coaches can only tell players what is needed they cannot play for them.

Just as unfortunate that they didn’t get more than 4

They had a couple of their own posts and the toe save on Robertson was pure luck

- burn

True .. I was on the track more of they won’t score enough...

But yeah Leafs def were robbed a couple times tonight... That’s where they just gotta crash the net and jam 1 home off a rebound before Cbus can clear it...

I can't remember 3 mins of Engvall being great in the past 21 games.

Dude you might want to stop getting high watching games.

You’re coming in with some terrible hot takes. You’re starting to look like max.

Not wearing down a team isn’t a great idea. More banging makes more room & time in the 3rd.
- Nighthawk

What’s toronto supposed to bang with?

4 forwards make over 40 mill...mostly AHL calibre forwards for the remainder...they don’t develop their own defense so they have to pay a sht load of money to gramps muzzin.

Completely horrible allocation of cap.

Next time...probably shouldn’t higher a 10th grader to be the GM.

If you’re not old enough to play at the arcade without parental supervision...then you are probably too young to run hockey ops of an NHL organization.

Just sayin’...

No way. Mitch picked it up as the game went on. Willy wasn’t making passes, and looked tiny out there. He started strong then disappeared
- Arctic_AARDVARK

I wanted more out of Willie...

I wanted a lot more out of Mitchy ...

People have a hate on for nylander and it’s ridiculous.

Marner was a bust tonight.

Hopefully he can pull his head out of his ass going forward because he has a lot more to offer then what he showed tonight.

- bryant

People have a hate on for marner too which is equally as ridiculous. They're both good players that are capable of being difference makers and also capable of having bad games, and even bad strings of games. But everybody needs a scapegoat and when you get shut out, you go after the offensive guys.

Great pass by Marner to no one. Stud player. On the same level as Matthews.

Trade his ass, please.

- Steven_Seagull

Chill, its one facking game.

But some great passes nonetheless

No he wasn’t and no he didn’t. Marner worst leaf on the ice all night. He didn’t do a single good thing.
- burn

He literally broke up a pass to an empty net to save the game.

It’s crazy how Willy can do no wrong, and after very loss is always Marners fault.

It reminded me of the last 3 games of last year's playoffs where the Bizarro version of Marner inexplicably made unwanted appearances.
