There were some structural things that they haven't done this year I see this game. For example, a pass to a stationary forward in the neutral zone who is immediately swallowed by a D man. Usually the forward is heading up ice with the puck on his stick by the time he enter the neutral zone this year.

Or just deflections/dump ins from the red line and then trying to regain possession. With the amount of clutching and grabbing and obstruction the Bruins routinely do, that's not gonna happen much. You need to skate with the puck and draw penalties.

They're playing a very good team and the Flyers aren't in mid season form. You description of the first period was not accurate. Saying they were completely out of sync is not accurate.
