Yes. I'm sure the half-dozen people that possess head dresses and attend Hawk games are heart broken.

If that's the trade off for keeping the team name, good move.

It seems like you are the only one upset about it, so maybe you should calm down?
- Fat_Tony_Amonte

No I'm just tired of this cancel culture mentality, and if people don't speak up more and more of our freedoms will be shutdown.

The entire point of the constitution and the bill of rights is to allow us the freedoms that no other country has and millions of people die trying to come here.

Learn your history it's called Marxism. My jab at calm down was to those who have decided to bow down and allow these fringe groups to cancel out anything and everything.

Going to a sporting event is a way to get away from politics and relax , unwind and cheer for your favorite team while showing your support , jerseys, painted faces, caps, and other apparel including head gear and costumes but it's all a way for each fan to support his or gpger team and have fun.

its been a while. Last time I checked in I was really skeptical and not to keen about NHL "playoffs" in August: logistics with pandemic, no fans, 4 months off and the quality of play...many other issues.

I give the NHL tremendous kudos for persevering and getting their business and product back on the market. They have put together a very smart plan to make this work: hub cities and no travel, bubble type environment for the teams and staff, nice phase in process, and the playoff format should bring alot of fan interest. I like what they did with the no fan stadium set-up and pumped in crowd goal celebration and 4000 covid tests negative.

The game itself was a positive surprise...decent pace. Timing and physical play was a bit off (to be expected). Blues seemed to see this as a game skate considering they have 3 more "practice games"

with 4 months off there is no time to wait for game shape...all teams are healthy and rested...no fatigue and injury issues after a long season into the playoffs is big difference.

Pat and Eddie are sure optimistic that it is a "new year" and anybody can win, and this and that...everybody is "even."

I guess I am passed that point of koolaid drinking and I have FOUR teams sweeping this play in.

(Anybody out there a gambler who can tell me what odds I get to bet $100 that there are 4 sweeps?

The Sweeps I am predicting will happen in these series:

Pittsburgh-Montreal
Winnipeg-Calgary
Vancouver-Minnesota
Edmonton-Chicago

Agree with you wiz watched last nights game my observation is the blues were going through the motions trying to their skating legs and working to get in game shape. hawks played well but imo blues didn't put in a full game effort.

More likely people are realistic enough to know that there is more important poop in the world to worry about then feelings of the half-dozen, over served "fans" that are there only to take selfies and couldn't tell you the difference icing and high-sticking.

Last I checked America is a free country . If a headband offends you don't wear one or look. But as a show of support for a team it is not offensive in anyway.

I'm sure I could find things you say or wear i don't agree with , should we just start canceling people from existence? I mean where does it end ? Free speech means all speech not politically correct to appease people that's offensive to our freedoms.

What's next Chicago bows to the minority and changes their team name ? Don't say it won't happen look at the Redskins.

I just think people need to calm down

Much needed outing from Giolito
- Elbows15

That core of Tanderson, La Pantera, Moncoda and Eloy is outstanding. It is a really exciting group. A few solid veterans in there as well with Abreu and Grandal. The pitching was the biggest question coming into the year. If that team gets quality starts they will be dangerous especially with the shortened season and an everyone gets in playoff.

he played 17:35, 15 seconds more than Kane who they "rested."

and behind Slater Koekkoek...who lead the team.

No sorry I don't paint my face, but their are many fans who do including plenty of woman. I just laid out many of the different ways fans show up to sporting events and proudly show their support.

If you think this isn't that big of a deal when every day people are being fired from their jobs over their religious or political beliefs or whom they support business wise your kidding yourself.

Like I said where does it stop and remember they will come for you don't think your safe it always happens ask those who supported the cancel culture only to find themselves then being canceled.

Yeah, looks like our plans for kayaking, hiking and biking will be minus one activity with the Great White attack the other day.

I think your missing the point or maybe just naive to the reality of the cancel culture affecting our country by a group of fringe radicals. Maybe the subject of headbands seems petty to you, but it's about the bigger picture that people are missing.

I think part of your comment seems shallow and elitist, by knocking fans for selfies or not knowing those rules of the game. I don't attack people for going to a game and enjoying themselves or not knowing the ins and outside of the game, it's a great way to learn. Just be more thoughtful and respectful to those who aren't as in tune with the rules of the game or want a picture in the end everyone's fun is different from others , but don't trash those people.
I guess until it happens to you or something you like , or agree with you won't realize just how out of control the cancel culture is.

Some positive signs from last night's win.

Not going to get too worked up as it was an exhibition and looked like the Blues were operating at about 70% for most of the games but it was a nice boost for the Hawks.

Let's see how they (and Crawford) fare against Edmonton McJesuses

All I know s if I do go kayaking I’ll have a bottle of the brown stuff on hand so I’ll have the liquid courage to fend off Jaws, Aquaman, the Kraken or any other denizens of the deep.

Tyler do you know if their is another game before Saturday or was that the only exhibition game they will play ?

Also do you see any tweaks you would make regarding the lines or defensive pairings ?

I thought cat was mia , nylander needs to shoot more and the team looked slow and over matched size wise especially in corners and on breakouts seemed sloppy at times ?

Cimaglia noted it on Twitter - and I noted it internally last night when it happened - Kane seemed pretty pissed when Nylander was called for an offside while 88 was entering the zone with the puck (he slammed the puck off the end board and looked disgusted).

Perhaps making too much of it, but....

Debrincat probably slides into the LW spot sooner rather than later. Unless him and Dach develop some serious chemistry.

craw better then Subban
matta looks so slow. I m ight consider sitting him.
Kampf is solid but just does not do enough 13 forward
CAGG did look out of sorts, I kept thinking he would get in a rythym and just use his speed but he just never did.
KK led the team in minutes and I barely noticed him so that is a good thing for D.
