Becoming the norm for him. He was terrific last season and seems to have picked up right where he left off. - Elbows15
Stone was giving him some SERIOUS praise today. Basically calling him one of the best relievers in all of baseball, saying he’s “the ultimate secret weapon”.
I love Stone he’s so on point with his analysis. |

Hawks spanked them. Blues looked pretty disinterested tbh.
Hopefully Saturday is a good game. - fattybeef
Yeah, the Blues get a pre 16 tune up for their playoff slot, and that will be a little more important, but they didn't have to work out all their kinks by Saturday, because their initial series doesn't bounce them out of contention just lowers their starting 16 slot. |

Hats off to hawks seemed ready to play. Blues seemed like more interested just getting thru the game and maybe playing some fortnight or watching the other games.
Actually kind of glad game went like it did. Will help refocus team.
I think one of the x factors in your series will be the ice. Will be interesting to see how 2nd and 3rd games go. Puck seemed to be bouncing a lot. |

This was a great night. Life was weird for a long time and still is. Whether you know me as Cupbearer, Hardhawkhockey or in person. I decided for a long time not to get involved in some of the stuff here. I'm really glad to see a lot of people I knew or have met. Go Hawks! Even if it is one and done there are upsides. Wiz Elbows Ogie and many others have a great weird season!!! - bhawknation01

Stone and Benetti are great together. JB brings the nerdy info and Stone adds to it with old school baseball knowledge. Stone gets the new ways of looking at the game but he brings his practical experience to it. Plus, they have a good rapport together.
Stone was praising Bummer a lot last season, too. Just a bit more cautious about it because relief pitchers come and go. |

I am not going to over analyze the game, but I thought the Hawks defenseman controlled the gaps as well as I have seen in a few years. Hope I can say the same thing after facing McDavid and Dreisital. |

Totally agree they are excellent together, JB is also moving up the rankings at ESPN. His tone and delivery are as good as you’ll ever hear. |

It was nice seeing our boys with the Native American logo out there yesterday.
As others have stated, the Blues looked like they just wanted to get it over with after the 1st period.
My worthless observations:
debrincat was pretty much a non-factor. Relegated to 4th line duty by the 3rd but, that could be because of the lead and the extra body on the bench.
Dach played in all situations. Anyone have a TOI on him? I have to say that the kid was not hurting the team in any of them.
Saad still doesn't know when to shoot or pass. He made more poor choices then good ones.
JC may be overthinking a bit. Kane on the left wing at times, Keith on #1 PP, Boqvist on #2. He must have had a woody when he knew he could play 7 D-men.
All-in-all it was nice watching them play. I'm still not sure what to expect saturday but, I'll be watching. |

Hey Triple H! Hope all's well. Great to see you on the boards again.
Picked up the game with about 5 mins left in the second. While it was an exhibition and as others have mentioned the Blues looked a bit disinterested, was great to see the Hawks playing well and taking it seriously.
Not sure how much of the play-in round I'll be able to check out as me and Mrs D leave for Maine Friday morning.
Looking forward to some fresh lobster, lobster rolls and some oysters right out of the water.

Just an observation. Obviously, it's best to go for the chance at #1. However, the Hawks looked like the old hawks. PK was solid. 2 Strong lines. Dach, Kubs looked great.
If they keep this play up, I think they have a chance to come out of the West. The east is much tougher this year. West is pretty weak. Blues or Vegas should come out of the West, but today's game has me thinking otherwise...
And no the Avs are pretenders. - RedRevenge
Avs are my pick to surprise a lot of people and go far this year. |

Make sure you have enough toilet paper.
Also, I've heard lobster goes well with brown liquor. Then again, what doesn't go well with brown liquor? |

Careful here.
Blues with not much to play for - they’re getting ready for a seeding round - they seem to be a bit distracted in this period. - StLBravesFan

It was good to see chicago get a solid win last night hopefully that builds momentum and confidence in the team and coaching staff.
Some key concerns I noticed was a lack of speed, over matched in size and some poor passing decisions on their breakouts.
To me chicago needs to play more of a defensive system of shutting down the neutral zone almost like New Jersey played back in the 90s with a trap system.
I thought subban looked good for his first time playing here in Chicago.
Nylander needs to shoot more
I noticed Chicago is now bowing to the cancel culture with banning Indian head bands. Its truly getting hard to support teams sports if a small minority of people are offended by anything and everything in life.

Yes. I'm sure the half-dozen people that possess one and attend Hawk games are heart broken. |

Cimaglia noted it on Twitter - and I noted it internally last night when it happened - Kane seemed pretty pissed when Nylander was called for an offside while 88 was entering the zone with the puck (he slammed the puck off the end board and looked disgusted).
Perhaps making too much of it, but.... |

Last I checked America is a free country . If a headband offends you don't wear one or look. But as a show of support for a team it is not offensive in anyway.
I'm sure I could find things you say or wear i don't agree with , should we just start canceling people from existence? I mean where does it end ? Free speech means all speech not politically correct to appease people that's offensive to our freedoms.
What's next Chicago bows to the minority and changes their team name ? Don't say it won't happen look at the Redskins.
I just think people need to calm down |

he played 17:35, 15 seconds more than Kane who they "rested."
and behind Slater Koekkoek...who lead the team. |
