Dude, I’ve been saying Sutter is a waste of skin (yes, it’s harsh, and yes it’s hyperbole, and not just a little hyperbole, but a lot of hyperbole) but haven’t heard the end of it from the 200’ crowd. I’m just musing if Green would actually go full retard and dress his most experienced lineup because, you know, experience wins.

Jumping the gun probably...

Roussel Gaudette Ferland were solid keep them together. Allows Ferland to move up if the blender comes out.

LE Beagle MacEwen for my 4th line

Jake idk he’s an enigma but could be subbed in. D liability holds him back so against Minny he probably sits.

D needed to be better in transition & breakouts which wan’t very good overall. Some struggled & that would be Fatty & Stecher. Tanev was himself & Hughes was ok but he wasn’t given much room. He’ll adjust. Myers was pretty solid. OJ held his own in the little TOI he got. Edler wasn’t horrible but wasn’t playing as he should.

Would you want to see OJ/Rafferty & live with them in exchange for their passing & offensive abilities on the 3rd pairing?

Benn won’t be ready for Sunday. Fatty just cannot make any plays. Stecher cannot handle PO intensity type hockey.

Rathbone will really be a big impact if he is ready for the show next season.

That’s the big one to me...

I think they go with the “most experienced” in game one. If poop hits the fan, swap OJ with fatburger.

Edler Myers
Tanev - QH
Stetcher - fant

Then same on forward. poop hits fan, swap in 2 of LE + JV or Zac and pray.

I don’t see Stecher & Fatty as experienced. Yes sure in the regular season but I just don’t think they are PO quality players. Benn if here would play.

As for 4th liners I can see LE in for Motte. I luv Motte’s speed hitting & hustle & he is a top PK guy. Loui is just our best D F we have whether fans like it or not. I’d say in for Sutter but Green cannot see it that way.

Petey looked good too (from what i saw).

I liked peteys effort. They sat on him all night and he took it, pushed back and moved on.

Petey knows nothing comes easy in the PO’s & also something new he’s ready & willing to take it head on.

Well that went slightly worse than what I was hoping for, but seems to be the norm against the Jets. Really gonna have to tighten up those turnovers and coverage against Minny.

It’s summer and the weather is awesome. How can you not be happy?

Saying that, I did have a chuckle over the pixels waisted on figuring out the make-up of the third and fourth lines. I always find shuffling the fringe humorous.

Secondly, a quote by Hellebuyck after last night’s game made me smile:
“I thought it [the game] was great, being able to get to that playoff battle mentality and that battle level. So this game was not just an exhibition for me, it was getting that battle intensity up.”

I hope the Canucks approach would be similar. Didn’t look like that “battle level” is there yet.

Pretty sloppy and uninspiring from a Canuck perspective.
The Jets looked good.

Yes they did and they primarily have an AHL defense lol.

Flames are in tough vs WPG as we are in tough vs Minny.

Although I like this Canucks team and it's slow improvements they totally looked like a 21st place team last night while the Jets looked like a PO contender.

Yes it's early and even the Hawks trounced the Cup champs so alot can be debated...but there was alot to be concerned about watching the Nucks last night.

Like the season, they looked like they had their legs in the first period and were able to forecheck and pressure really well. As the game wore on, they tired and the Jets took it to them. Not sure why that keeps happening, but seems like the Canucks’ system is either easy to figure out, or the guys tire/cheat their responsibilities.

Where did i say i wasnt happy? I'm happy but its WAY TOO fawking hot here in Ontario, uncomfortably hot, mid to high 30's every day = 3 showers per day.

I thought the game could've gone quite differently in a hurry last night - the Canucks came out on fire. Boeser shouldve burried his walk thru the slot attempt and Petterssons PP 1-timer came an inch from going in. Hellybuck is a beast tho - he steals games. Jets 1st goal was screen shot fluke after being severely outplayed for 20 mins. But that's hockey. I thought the Canucks were the better team for 35 mins - but lost focus and got overrun in the 3rd. Luckily it was exhibition and just a tune up. Brock was on fire and looked incredible as did a few others.

Coaching isn't the Canucks strong suit. I was confident they would get past Minny, now I'm less sure. Markstrom giving up juicy rebounds, too.

I live in Ontario ( Whitby) and you’re right way to hot and humid. Last week our AC broke and it was 87 inside the house.

My happy question was rhetorical. Wasn’t directed at you.

As I said yesterday, the Canucks are going to out score their flaws. If not then Minny has a really good chance of winning this five game series.

(frank), tell me about it. 32-37 every day in this sweaty ass city. It’s 30 degrees by the time I bike to the studio at 9am. Add in the crazy thunderstorms that have been happening 3 times a week, and it’s just not comfortable weather on the east coast.

I used to love summer until I moved here - once end of May comes I start to dread it, mentally prep yourself for the sh&tstorm on the horizon.
