Ben Pope has an article in the SunTimes today about de Haan and his return from surgery. His procedure sounds really interesting. I've been lucky enough to never have/need shoulder surgery, but it sounds like they grafted or installed some kind of scaffold to help keep everything stable and stop it from happening again.
Has anyone here heard of this before (or have had it done)? |

Looks like Chayka was being wooed by New Jersey.
Arizona refused to let them make a formal offer. The money was rumored to be really high. Then all the after stuff started that we will be getting the details of at some later date.
Still wondering how those six Blackhawk defenseman are going to deal with 20 minutes of play each from the Oilers two best players... |

Or how the Oilers defenders are going to deal with 40 mins of Patrick Kane \ night...
Its going to be weird. The quality will be sloppy and really anything can happen. You'd think that the advantage would go to the experienced guys though Leon and McDavid are quite good. |

I may be in the minority with this but I don't think it's going to be a landslide series win by the Oilers with McDavid and Draisatl purely dominating every minute they're on the ice.
They will be a handful but last I checked this was a team game. Contain them as a team, defend against the other Oilers as a team, and generate offense as a team.
Make it a competitive series and see where the chips fall. Let's hope there is fire in their bellies and not mail it in like they did in their last playoff series. |

Agreed, the Oilers power play will destroy the Hawks.
Game 1: 3-0 Oilers
Game 2: 5-1 Oilers
Game 3: 7-3 Oilers

At least the hawks get better as the series goes on, offensively anyway. That’s all we can really ask for. |

Hawks aren’t getting shut out. The EDM goaltending is not good, and their defense isn’t either.
Hawks are actually much better 5 v 5. If the refs put their whistles away for the playoffs, and the Hawks don’t take any stupid penalties, they’ve got a chance.
And the playoff experience of the Hawk vets is the intangible. Has McDavid been in the playoffs yet? |

The scary thing is I could honestly see that happening and wouldn’t at all be surprised.
But I also won’t be surprised if we take it to 5 games or even win as long as we don’t get killed on the PK/commit stupid penalties.
IMO both teams are average and it’s a toss up as long as Crawford plays.

In 16-17, they made it past the first round, but fell to the Ducks in the second. If memory serves there was a pretty bad call that went against the Oilers in that series, but they still lost in 6. |

I am certainly not going to the Flyers board to tell him I think his team is the best long shot in the bunch.... |

They actually do have a very sneaky good team. Wonder if Patrick is finally healthy and ready to add to their impressive forward depth. Hayes was a solid pick up. Giroux and Voracek might not be what they once were but they’re still very good, and their defense is also underrated IMO. Ghost has become an afterthought at this point. Hart seems like a solid goalie too.
Having said all that I don’t think they’re quite good enough to take 4 out of 7 vs Boston or Pittsburgh. |

I can't disagree with all you say. I do believe the health as in being banged up- for Crosby and Malkin is as worrisome for their fans as whether C Hart, the very young netminder, gets his cage rattled. Also the Flyers impressive depth doesn't mean a lot if Giroux is injury fell |

I didn’t realize Giroux was hurt.
Hey bruceflyers would you care to weigh in on this? I’d really like to hear what you have to say given your track record of thought provoking and intelligent statements on these blogs. |
