ok, 20$ is reasonable, but it's sad if game developers are allowed to charge 500$ or some crazy amount of money for an option, knowing that there's a schmuck that'll be willing to pay... gotta be careful not to let your kids have full access to your account lolll - Pat1993
A fool and their money are easily parted. It's why we have more government in our lives, protecting fools from giving their money away for sparkling bobbles, often in video game form (ooooo look, a new character skin - who needs to pay the mortgage when I can look like Deadpool in a game that doesn't involve Deadpool)
I don't blame video game developers for making as much money as they can off morons. That's how free market economics and capitalism work. More government is rarely the correct answer. Survival of the weakest as a result of government intervention doesn't make a stronger society |

I agree that intervening isn't always the best option, but completely unchecked capitalism isn't the solution either imo... yes you have your morons that are actually willing to spend their money on anything, and that's fine, but there are also a lot of more "vulnerable" individuals who may have problems like gambling, OCD, psychological disorders, etc. that make them easier prey for these companies who want to make a profit no matter what. now if the logic is to get rid of these people as well and keep only the "strongest", then carry on I guess loll

James Tanner after Chayka fired? - AdamFrench
gotta love the Coyotes' statement:
John Chayka has quit as the General Manager and President of Hockey Operations of the Arizona Coyotes. The Club is disappointed in his actions and his timing as the Coyotes prepare to enter the NHL's hub city of Edmonton, where the team will begin post-season play for the first time since 2012. Chayka has chosen to quit on a strong and competitive team, a dedicated staff, and the Arizona Coyotes fans, the greatest fans in the NHL.

If you can download NBA 2k20 for fres it means you have PS+ which also means you can play online...I believe - Takemedrunkimhome
Yeah. But I meant that if I have to pay to play I'll take advantage of the free games |

This one is tough for me because I don't disagree with you, however at what point does individual responsibility come in? Survival of the fittest went away a while ago and all government has been for a long time is for survival of the weakest. I'm not necessarily opposed to that, but frankly, at some point in time companies need to be able to make a profit and with free to play games that comes in the form of payable upgrades. I guess I struggle with the game developer having to protect somebody from themselves, I'm not sure I think it should be their responsibility or that of the government. You're essentially taking people's freedom away with a government knows best position and that to me is a slippery slope. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favour of a person with issues shelling out $10s of thousands but I'm also not in favour of letting the government tell me or my business what I can and can't do |

yeah it's a slippery slope for sure. a "balanced" approach imo would be to let the market and the companies do as they wish, but with certain regulations in place to avoid these ridiculous and unnecessary offers. but even then, what covid brought even more to light is that people are pathetic and stupid, and they will always do pathetic and stupid things, so what's the point, really...
so yay for optimism! loll
