Roussel Gaudette MacEwen
Motte Beagle Eriksson

My guess on the bottom 6. PK is covered. Ferland might sneak in & JV looks like beaten out by better efforts in camp. Sutter back up C if injuries.

Idk if it’s try outs or just training camp but some players have earned notice.

Some will say over priced players in the bottom 6 but the depth can come in very handy if we are to make any kind of run. The longer the run the lower the 1st pick will be in the JTM trade. Crosses fingers.

I think it’s a real tough choice between Ferland and MacEwen to play on that third line. In the Winnipeg game they’re allowed to carry an extra forward on the bench — can see them rotating those two as a final tryout for that line.

I think you are underestimating what a healthy Ferland does to this team. It really changes everything.

For once in a long time Canucks have a good problem.

Ferland is the better player. I think Green is already showing his hand. I think if healthy Ferland will play on the third line .

Agree which is a better spot for him IMO. Players with some play making ability will help Ferland's game as we saw when he was having success in Calgary. With Mac looking great JV is in a tough spot...

He definitely is — it’s just a matter if he’s able to play up to that ability. So far so good though! Really looking forward to seeing how things roll out against the Jets

Young guys might get into the exhibition game, but I bet Green goes with experience in game 1 vs Wild. Sutter, Eriksson, Ferland all in.

I don't know if there are any wrong choices? They are all playing well except Jake .

I think if Foligno roughs up a few Canucks then Zack will be called in but I think your prediction is close.

I dunno, something about how your brain processes motion around you, and how you fit in with that motion.

I think it’s like trying to play a new PC game on your 10 year old lap top. The computer renders the graphics, and you can play, but it’s choppy and disjointed.

Rough stuff would be suited to counter with all 3 of Ferland, ZacMac and JV better then Motte/LE/Sutter on rounding out the bottom 6.

Yeah, I don’t think there are wrong choices either, but I feel like even though they (Green/Benning etc) always say they’ll make room if someone earns a spot, in their heart of hearts they’re old school guys and they will want the guys who have been there before, or have more experience. Not a daily lineup guy, but I expect to see something like this for game 1 vs Wild. I do think he will have a short leash for guys like Virtanen though.

Yes... my etc. comment lazy in including the details. But that's why in Utica game Ferland had problems in first period with the pace of the game. He needed more time to rewire. Looks like he might be there now. Though the Jets game will be the true test.

Rousell will definitely be in over Sutter/LE. I think Zacmac too has earned it and better fit to counter the rough stuff and score then those 2 PK specialists. Not sure why against this Wild team you need more PK specialists when Rousell and Pearson with Beagle and Horvat/Miller are just as good or better.

I agree about loyalty to veterans and green/Benning. Only one I would tweak out of that is macewen in for any on the 4th line, and then virtanen to the 4th (with the new found chemistry of the 3rd line in scrimmages).

Forgot about Rous, but I don’t think Quesey gets into a playoff game over a veteran unless someone is hurt or they perform badly in game 1. Louis Eriksson Sr. Is still a better hockey player even if everyone here hates him. As are Sutter and Beagle, and probably Virtanen.

Yeah, I don’t know what he will do, but my feeling is Veterans over youth to start at least. Green likes guys who “play the right way”

Green has had nothing but praise for zack in this camp, so it actually wouldnt surprise me to see him start. Sutter has been off and on, not only in play, but in health this camp, so maybe they hold him out to start?

I wonder how the NHL is going to deal with OT, given the schedules are pretty tight? I know CC said they are flexible schedule wise, but imagine being a team slated to play an afternoon game, you prepare and then end up playing the late game, and the team that was supposed to play the late game now plays the next morning. Players have their routines, and this will mess their poop up.

No chance Roussel isn’t playing. He is the best playmaker in the bottom 6

He praised Gaudette and then sent him down (yes he was recalled almost right away and managed to stick). If Zach plays how much ice will he get? 8min at ES? Green was also hard on Virtanen at camp at the start of the year, but he played him anyway.

The teams and players who can adapt quickly will have an advantage. That’s why I think predictions will be more difficult going forward. The old metrics for predicting are now out the window.
