If Chicago trades saad , I don't see them retaining any salary. Saad has some decent value a young prospect and a pick I see.

Nobody has cap space, ok 2-3 teams, 20+ teams trying to do business with them. Can get a king's ransom. If you trade $6m away, $6m is coming back. Reality for the next 2-3 years.

With a stagnant cap, trades are going to be equal value for equal value.

Damn, too slow again ...

But well said! I think trades will be defense for offense and visa versa, equal value needing change of scenery etc.

Sounds like Chayka quit in the middle of his contract - statement from the Coyotes:

John Chayka has quit as the General Manager and President of Hockey Operations of the Arizona Coyotes.

"The Club is disappointed in his actions and his timing as the Coyotes prepare to enter the NHL's hub city of Edmonton, where the team will begin post-season play for the first time since 2012. Chayka has chosen to quit on a strong and competitive team, a dedicated staff, and the Arizona Coyotes fans, the greatest fans in the NHL.”

From Chayka:
““I love our players, coaches, staff and fans and I very much wish I could be with the team in Edmonton. Sadly, the situation created by ownership made that an impossibility,” Chayka said.

Official 31-man roster set. The 4 cuts were Seabrook, Johnson, Krys, and Tomkins.

No surprise with Seabrook obviously or even Tomkins.

Would have preferred Johnson over Quenneville and Krys over Regula but whatever. Not moving the needle much picking any 2 out of those 4.

Shouldn’t I be getting some kind of refund from a Center Ice?

Let the mock line-ups begin.

Not going to lie, I'm really excited at this. Hockey coming back. Hell yeah!

Is it common for teams to have 4 goalies? Is there a set of specific guidelines or do teams fill the 31 roster how they want?

On the Fox broadcast of the Cubs-Brewers game yesterday, the network “virtually” filled the stands with computer generated fans. (Or should that be “literally” filled the stands with “virtual” fans?)

One fan interfered with a fly ball down the left field line that the Cubs’ left fielder could have caught....

Trump postponed a planned trip to Yankee Stadium to throw out the first pitch on August 15.

He’s afraid of being booed by the CGI crowd.

Hopefully the Hawks aren’t in a position to play guys like Quenneville or Regula. It will be a great experience for Regula, the Hawks must be high on him to bring him along.

Hawks land in Edmonton and I have thoughts on the current status of the roster/team.
