I don't remember the whole card on Poulin as far as his game style, but from watching the scrimmage last night he's shark out there. He was always hunting down the puck and creating turnovers, which is definitely the way to get in Sully's good graces. While he doesn't have similar speed, his game kind of reminds me of Hossa. He has good defensive awareness while being able to jump into the transition. - Rinosaur
I seem to remember something along the lines of hard nose for net and dirty areas and good shot but not the best skater... |

From what I remember he's got the potential to be a 70-80 point guy. He's like a Jack of all trades King of none type a deal. So kinda like Hossa as he was never the king of anything but was good at basically everything. |

If Poulin pays, does it burn a year off of their ELC? I've also read good thinks about Joseph. He wont get a chance to play this year, but Ive read he has had a good season, especially given the sickness he had earlier in the season. Rutherford seems to think he'll be a top 4 defender. Him and Marino added some much needed help to the defense prospect pool. Made trading Addison that much easier. - SuperHenderson13
POJ was apparently playing Letang minutes and role in the AHL. I think we'll see him at some point next year. Maybe not right away, but I do think he supplants JJ by year's end.
I think he'll be a top 4, maybe even take over Dumoulin's role. Don't think he has big offensive upside, but his all around game is great and his skating is the foundation for it all. |

That would be huge if both POJ and Poulin could make the jump next year. I just imagine Poulin with Sid and Jake, Zucker Geno Rust makes our top six set. |

I've seen at least 10 scouts talk about how much his skating has improved. He's not suddenly a burner, but there aren't doubts anymore he can skate at an NHL level. (Legare not so much).
Basically, Poulin was drafted as an end of 1st round talent with the 2 concerns being skating and not enough scoring. He improved in both immensely and now has no real weaknesses.
Athletic had a profile on him a while back and they said what makes him stand out is half way through the year he put together how to blend a finesse and power game and was basically unstoppable at that level at that point.
I'm not sure he'll be a huge scorer though I won't rule it out. I feel pretty safe saying he'll be a top 6 guy on skill alone and then add size while playing responsible defense. Very high floor for him.
Hoping he makes the jump next year rather than go back to the Q because he's got nothing left to learn there and is physically ready. Saw him score a goal where he knocked over both defenders to get a puck in front. |

70-80 points? Maybe in Wilkes Barre lol
Don’t get me wrong I’d love to eat crow but... I think lumping him in with Hossa is quite ambitious lol |

I swear if Poulin can play the right and I think he does I want to see that. He'd be great for taking on the dirty roles for that line letting Sid not have to battle as much at his advancing age, and he has the hands to finish.
Even if he starts 3rd line with McCann and Hornqvist that would make a tough matchup. Who's got a third pair for that? |

My prediction would be around 25 goals and 50 points. I don't know that he'll grab a big PP role hear as he'd have to bump Jake off net front.
Legare has a bigger point upside because he has a special RH shot and there's nothing like that in Pittsburgh or the system. He just has a lot more flaws to overcome. |

That’s the biggest thing. To hit 70-80 points you gotta have some legit 1PP time and I don’t see that in Poulin, there just isn’t a spot for him. |

Id have to say Hossa was really good at everything in all zones. He was a 2 way stud whle putting up 80 to 100 point season. 70/80 point guy is close to elite territory, so I sure hope that's the case, but I'm going to keep my expectations a bit lower than that. |

Every prospect has a PPG comp. Who here remembers Anton Zlobin? I think he got comped to Alex Semin pretty often by prospect sites. |

Yeah his skating looked pretty good to me last night. A lot can change in a year haha. Organizations work with prospects to strengthen weaker sides of their games but also these kids are still developing physically anyways. A players prime is around mid 20's usually and he only turned 19 four or five months ago. He's looking promising, no doubt.

Ok I may have gone a bit ambitious there lol, 50-60 seems more plausible. Hey maybe one day he'll get to that 70-80 points. |
