Why do you think Pod is bottom 6? From everything I've read, he's a solid top 6 winger to be.

There are a lot of opinions but I don't see the offensive skills. Heart and hustle will only take you so far.

There is a transfer agreement with SHL so he can come over whenever the Canucks want him. So he could leave his Swedish team to come to camp and try out.

If there is no AHL starting up at time of NHL training camp you might be right he stays in Sweden until Canucks need him or work out roster changes with moving out contracts. (LE #1 candidate)

Its one thing to go to a Sept camp then join your Swedish team if you dont make the cut. Quite another to leave it mid season just for a camp try out and miss 3 weeks of critical games.

Funny they said that about BO and being a 3C. There is video tape out there on Podz showing his puck moves, passing and shot its all high level. He's got good hockey IQ too. At KHL camp there is one of him pulling a Petey type move on faking out the goalie to one hand slide puck past him.

The offensive skills?

He hasn't lit it up in the KHL, but limited role as a 19 year old plays into that. His numbers increase greatly every league he drops down, and his U18 and U20 numbers over the past 2 years are quite good.

I think the first year over here will be a little bit of a transition, and can see him starting on the third line, but I don't think he'll be there for long. If all the other scouts/prospect guys are right in their ballpark, he is a top 6er with first line potential.

Bo scored 74 goals and 165 points in 3 seasons in the best junior league in the world, breaking 30 in his final two seasons. His offensive abilities were obvious. Foot speed was a concern. He had to work hard on that just like I think Podz will have to work hard on his offensive skills. If you are lacking one of those skills, which one is easier to overcome?

Junior in Canada is at a much more high level than junior in Russia.

If Green is here, Podz grinder skills will probably have him in the top 6 permanently.

That's a large hyperbole. Does JTM's grinder skills keep him in the bottom 6? Or TT? They can both be excellent grinders.

Guess we'll just have to wait to see how he plays in his second KHL season, and how the transition to the NHL goes after that.

Infuriating! It was being discussed in the private, invite-only forum this morning.

Actually Podz skating needs to improve. You should google those videos of his skills on display before labeling him a grinder.

Tuesday lines at #Canucks Camp:

Pearson-Pettersson-Boeser
Roussel-Horvat-MacEwen
Miller-Gaudette-Toffoli
Ferland-Beagle-Motte

Hughes-Tanev
Edler-Myers
Fantenberg-Stecher
Juolevi-Chatfield

Extras: Virtanen, Sutter, Eriksson

Green just toying with lines or is a Bo a shutdown line & Gaudette gets a crazy opportunity?

Perhaps Gaudette is coming in hot like Boeser after the break? I have a feeling TG will switch it back to normal at some point – just getting different looks before the play-in to see what he has if he has to change things on the fly.

And two days in a row for Ferland on that line. Maybe he's gonna keep healthy?

It’s fun to think of Gaudette getting true proven wingers but more like another step towards next year.

If he can stay healthy I’d luv to see Ferland play. Another W in the way for Jake. Can Jake see the writing on the wall & the crossroads he’s coming to?
