Leddy was the only reason Rozy was able to keep up those last 2 years. He played basically two positions and really wasn't that bad in his own end.

Rozy was rock solid in his own end, reminded me so much of Sopel just harder to play against and on top of it Rozy had soft hands for great in between outlet passes that so many dmen struggle with back then and now.

I found that funny myself. I thought they were going to change their uniforms to all beige.

I think a big part of the problem was that there was a guy who copywrited (copywrote?, copywrit?) a bunch of the team names that they were considering.

In the beating a dead horse section...

When I did the entire tome on letting first rounders percolate and not just throwing the unready to the wolves...I wanted to make this point too:

If you check the last decade of drafts, you will see that in rounds 4 through 7, less than 20 prospects a year turn in to service NHL regulars for a time.

That means an NHL team better have good scouting.

It means they better position themselves with as many picks in the first three rounds as they can.

If (like Montreal & Ottawa) they, in one year (this year) have a plethora of picks in those rounds, they better figure out everyday to climb up or drop down to maximize getting the guys on their lists.

Or if they cannot find dance partners who will relinquish their draft slots, they need to find the best NHL players (skill and contract) to add to their parent club in exchange for those selections.

I am not trying to simplify a difficult job the GM already has, but I have said over the last couple that I cannot understand how any first rounders get traded especially after the lack of success those teams turn out for the team giving up the first round picks.
