I am a bit younger. Not much but at our age the half year becomes important again.

You're elderly, but I wouldn't say wise. Hell, I wouldn't come to you if I wanted a stick of gum.

Darth, try mathing in the other direction. I'm 25.

Chunk, thanks for starting this all ...

Truly sorry. On the other hand, I did actually prove my point so there’s that. Congrats on the degrees. As much as people here give you crap, it is and always will be a big accomplishment. I got two myself.

Nah, it's cool. Don't be sorry. I can take a joke ... or several. I don't know how to type with a joking tone. Even Darth is mistaken for being serious every now & then.

Scott Powers and others reporting that Maatta did end up practicing today with the second group. It's not known why but the most important thing is he is healthy.

Powers:"It’s unclear exactly what happened with Maatta, but league sources recently said teams have had to hold back players because the organizations are being extra cautious. There have been players who haven’t been able to join practice on time because their test results have been delayed."

Yeah, I know. It would take a lot to snag Robertson from the Leafs. I love his upside.

Where do the Leafs project him to play in the lineup short term and long term? He has the goods to make the team next season.

- AEL_Fox

I think the kid has a chance to be a Debrincat or a Konecny at the bottom end, with the potential to be a special an Gaudreau or Point. Small, quick and a goal scorer.

He will be good enough to play in the NHL next season. But he will need to play on one of the top three lines If Johnsson or Kapenen are forced to be traded due to cap issues, then there will be a spot for the kid, if not, he's going to the Marlies in the AHL

By August 1 the paid shills in the Leafs media will be projecting Robertson to be the best combination of Patrick Kane, Marcel Dionne and Yvan Cournoyer they have ever witnessed.

Surely he's the man who will end their 54 year losing streak.

So what happens when the teams/league does not get the test results back soon enough. They won't cancel games. The league didn't have hindsight to schedule all games two days apart - enough time to get test results - or each series has to be best of five. That could interfere with network/cable agreement to televise up to seven games as forthvoming to next round(s). So we never know whom may play or be held out

That is what we should expect, right?

Since the full control of the media information stream will be in the hands of the NHL, rather than the teams, once they all enter the bubble, my cynical self says we will never know and that they will not hold out a player who is asymptomatic just for a delayed test result. I don't trust the league's medical care or concern for the players much at all.

My suspicion yesterday was that Murphy was held out waiting for a test result unless he re-tweaked his back (please, no). It's been happening all over the MLB with delays of several days.

And you are naive enough to think it means injury? What happened to the "upper body" or "lower body" lingo? It just went out the window?
- powerenforcer

Being naive has nothing do to with it. It was announced that this was going to be how all injuries and illness are reported in the immediate future. Maybe you should actually know something before coming up with a stupid response like you usually do.

Thanks for the insight. Robertson is making things happen in Leafs camp and seems to be the buzz there.

With Hyman out (not you Breadman), Robertson is now skating with Matthews and Nylander.

Definitely stating his case to be top 9 next season and top 6 down the line. But yeah, the Leafs need to get rid of one of Johnsson, Kapanen, or Kerfoot.

There is no way to know presently what becomes of the top prospects whom tentatively is scheduled to perform collegiately next season. In fact we can even consider prospects drafted Sept 2020 from juniors hockey leagues . Those same non professional, developmental leagues oversea as well as professional leagues verily verily may experience some stopage or cancellation of games/season

This means that some prospects decide to turn professional early. Of course NHL teams will be sitting through the pitfalls of reduced revenue next seasin. And expansion comes after next season

NHL teams may/may not fill all 50 spots in their organizational roster due to the expected trimming of expenses.

The prospects whom could decide to leave early most likely are not NHL ready. So NHL teams would hope there is minor league hockey played next season

I do not believe there are any Blackhawk players whom would turn pro early. If they did, they likely are not NHL ready.

Even the diminutive scorer extraordinair C Caufield was told by Bergevin to play another season at U of Wisc to better enhance his development.

I am sure that Carreron, AEL_FOX, and wiz would inform us if anyone in our pipeline turns pro early.

Rumor that several teams inquiring about Demko. Hawks not amongst those teams right now but would he be worth exploring given Crawford's uncertainty?

Demko has one more year on his contract at $1,050,000. What would be the price to trade for him?

Then Murray from the Penguins has been of interest by many fans at least. He's an RFA coming off of a $3,750,000 AAV contract.

Not sure if either are viable options but just throwing this out there for consideration.
