Agreed, but at some point they’ll have to make a decision I wouldn’t expect it until the TDL at the earliest. Do they lock in with Saad and risk losing on of their young guns or do they take their chances on the youth? There’s no easy answer.

Saad will be 29 at the start of his next deal. He is going to need to decide if this is where wants to be and prolly take less than he would get on the open market or uproot his family.

Even in a stagnant cap, some GMs will still overpay UFA. Maybe fewer than usual but GMs have not shown an ability to be rational in the past.

I'm not sure I'd be worrying about how Nylander fits into any of the future cap situations until he changes his attitude, game and consistency, and show that he can produce and not be a liability when he is not skating with #88. Don't hold your breath...

I haven't heard that he has had a bad attitude/work ethic since becoming a BlackHawk, if anything he has done nothing but work hard when he was sat out or demoted to the 4th line for inconsistencies. That comes with a lot of young players, doesn't mean he is a Jesse Puvjari.
