The book you refer to seems to indicate that Einstein was taking all of the credit for Mileva's plagiarism:

Terrible president. Economy was terrible. More people on welfare and food stamps than when he started. Economy under trump is the best it’s been in 50 years. Great job, as always, Mike. I have always said the forwards have to support the defence. The defensive side of the game is a full team effort to often, the defensemen get too much of the blame.
