What have you seen that convinces you that Tryamkin will be an impactful NHL'er?
- Marwood

the guy's decent. i don't want to make out that he can't play. he could definitely be serviceable.

...but he's nowhere near good enough to have the attitude he does.

He want's things his way from what i've heard, the guy needs to prove he's a solid NHL player, aside from a couple of streaks he hasn't done that. He hasn't exactly lit up the KHL. I could GAF if he spends his career in Russia. Give the job to someone grateful to have an opportunity.
- VanHockeyGuy

This is what bothers most people about him, he’s very entitled for some reason.

I like his size, the way he skates and how he swats people from in front of the net. It's not a big deal he went back to Russia, I still think he's better suited for a NHL team with a large Russian community. Trade his ass as a sweetener.

Come on, I’m not saying he’s a fantastic player, I’m saying you have the making of a good third pairing guy who’s a good skater, he’s strong on his skates, he angles oncoming players well and you just can’t teach size and reach.

His biggest problem is his attitude, unless he’s willing to accept a role the coach sees fit for him, he’s not of much use to you.

Montreal has an abundance of 2nd round picks

Which is what would probably make him a sh*tty teammate.

Yup, and the team can ill afford that in the room right now with all these young guys. His agent also seems like a d1ck, hopefully JB told him to go back to the KHL instead of caving to his demands.

I don't think he sees himself as a 3rd pairing D-man.

I think Rathbone would displace him sooner than later.

"I've been in this business 25 years. I don't need anybody to tell me they have a cap issue. Everybody in Vancouver media and in the NHL knows it. They're probably feeling a bit of relief that we took one issue off the table."

Agent Todd Diamond on Nikita Tryamkin staying in KHL.

: Loui Eriksson is this team's best 4th-line forward, a defensively-reliable guy and useful PKer. I think he's going to be a big part of this playoff performance. Not only is he going to be in the lineup, but he should be. They are going to need his 2-way abilities

Cap issues....

Sounds like Tree has an agent issue and the fact he's a tool.

It’s unfortunate when you can’t sign a decent young player you drafted but signing Rathbone takes a bit of that sting away. They play a very different game though, you need big guys like Tryamkin.
- Pacificgem

I don’t really care if they sign him or not. I only care that a thing that the GM wanted to do he was unable to do because of other things he did that are stopping him from things he wants to do.

Here's a follow up story on the 6 year old who saved his sister from the dog attack.
