Tryamkin extended 1 year in KHL.

Tryamkin’s agent said he couldn’t wait for the Canucks to solve their cap issues so his client had to sign with KHL.

I thought we didn’t have a cap issue?

Just read this...

“Nikita Tryamkin has signed for 1 more year in KHL.

Agent Todd Diamond : Nikita could not wait any longer, the risk was too high for him, he has not played since February.
The Canucks can not do a deal right now due to cap issues & they do not want to add a 1 way deal right now.“

"I've been in this business 25 years. I don't need anybody to tell me they have a cap issue. Everybody in Vancouver media and in the NHL knows it. They're probably feeling a bit of relief that we took one issue off the table."

As much as I don’t really care for Tryamkin, his size and reach are huge factors clearing the front of the net for a team that gives up a ton of shots.

good. whiny b!tch who complained about ice time when he was a fatty and out of shape. complained about the coach. left to go back home because he was .

a whiny b!tch is a whiny b!tch. let's not make exceptions for some players and not others (not at you but i remember the mccann discussions and even drouin in tb).

I don't think the Canucks are in a position to walk away from any defensive prospects and don't put as much stock into his comments as many do. I have no idea if he is even a replacement level NHLer or not but the teams defense future and depth is far from ideal.

I assume Tryamkin must do wanted a salary that was higher than Benning was willing to give.

Edit. Nvm looks like it was a timing issue.

Have to agree with Burke here, both fantastic players but what Quinn Hughes did for the Canucks was Calder impressive.

"Makar had a lot more help around him. What Quinn Hughes did with less around him was more impressive”

Brian Burke joined @psolkowski and Mike English to talk about the Calder Trophy debate.“

Hard to do when you're crying all the time. People said the same thing about Gudbranson and he sucked goat balls.

The only issue is that Benning felt like this was a player who could improve the team and was unable to do a deal because of their situation. Weather the player is actually an upgrade or not is irrelevant.

Exactly. They couldn't sign him right now, as he would have been on the books for this year. I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to sign contracts for next year yet. The Canucks could have signed him after this season... but that's going to conclude after the start of the KHL season.

But he wasn’t a good player, Tryamkin is better imo, at the end of the day it’s a moot point....he gone!

He want's things his way from what i've heard, the guy needs to prove he's a solid NHL player, aside from a couple of streaks he hasn't done that. He hasn't exactly lit up the KHL. I could GAF if he spends his career in Russia. Give the job to someone grateful to have an opportunity.

It’s unfortunate when you can’t sign a decent young player you drafted but signing Rathbone takes a bit of that sting away. They play a very different game though, you need big guys like Tryamkin.

And you know this from his 66 games in the NHL and his total of 9 points? That’s crazy talk.

it's more than that.

next time things don't go his way or he gets criticized in the media or by the coach or he sits in the press box for a couple of games, what will his reaction be? the one way deal obviously means he doesn't want to play in the AHL (like he didn't want to last time) so at what point does him dictating his playing terms (where and how much) become a problem?

Yes...he played a better game within his particular skill-set. I never liked Gudbranson, said it from the moment I found out about the trade. I said he’s garbage and he was. One of the worst trades in Canucks history.
