Thinking about an overnighter to Gibsons & Grammas pub. Be a nice change from this boredom of staying home.

Do you have camping gear? Great way to get out and get away from it, and that was before the virus.

So some kids in Summerland spray paint hate on someone's house and then there are kids like this.

On July 9th, this six year old boy saved his little sister’s life by standing between her and a charging dog. After getting bit several times on the face and head, he grabbed his sister’s hand and ran with her to keep her safe. He later said, “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.” After receiving 90 stitches from a skilled plastic surgeon, he’s finally resting at home

Ive been thinking abiut this pretourney and playoffs alot, such a strange time. But also imagine the followibg scenarios:

Suter contracts covid, seems like a walk in the park for us.

Mcdavid or draisitl, does edmonton even advance?

The list goes on. Of course injuries are normal, but this is so different in terms of how easily a key person could be out

I mean it could easily be a Canuck or 8 that gets infected, not that i'd want that for any team. It's just the nature of how the virus spreads.

Imagine your team being in the final four and having a couple of your key players test positive and you lose the round? Disappointing to say the least. That's not even factoring in any short or long term health issues suffered by any of those players.

Or the league has to give a team a bye, because one team is shut down due to the virus.

It's going to be interesting to see how they deal with testing and test results.

What if before the game McDavid's test comes back inconclusive? Does he have to sit? What if he has a false positive? How big of an impact will these test have on the outcome of individual games?

Yeah, it's all (frank)ed up.

I don't put much stock in putting an asterisk next to the Stanley Cup winner this year. I figure it's kind of like there's an extra round. ( Actually, I feel this might be a better formula moving forward. Shorter season, extra playoff round with a few byes. )

However, if teams start advancing and winning due to covid decimating teams then I'll feel differently.

Would have to think at that point the league would pause to get everything under control and reset. They don't want to be limping into a Finals with that hanging over their head.

Hopefully. Still though, losing a top six player or top 4D....even a top 3C is so critical at this time of year. Even losing 1 or 2 key players for a game or two can decide a series. What if those players are asymptomatic?

To me, it's never really made sense to re-start if transmission was an issue. I fully understand why they are though. Just get it right.

They would probablyi try and reset, but i am sure they are also concerned about trying to get this completed before the 2nd wave in the fall.
Also, would they want players leaving the bubble, if they had to do a 10-14day isolation period?

If all goes according to their plan, once they're in the bubble they should be okay. The problem is getting from home cities to the bubble cities and not having anyone catch it along the way/right before – that could cause some havoc.

Would be smart to have players/staff quarantine for 5 days after they get to the hub cities just to be sure.

I hope it works, I really do. I have my doubts, as I'm sure others do. Regardless, my original point was that if it becomes a covid poopshow as neem alluded to then I wouldn't feel right about it. Then I think an asterisk would be warranted.

Apparently you hate the team and you hate hockey if you feel this way. Try being less miserable.

i understand the "asterisk" issue but at a certain point, i don't get it.

an asterisk is supposed to be something that is put into the "record book." i'm not sure about you guys but i don't look at the "record books" and daydream about yesteryear.

if i look things up, i'll be reminded of FACTS but i let the interpretation be mine not someone else's.

this year is a complete sh!tshow and it's going to be remembered. i'll remember about a cup awarded (if they do) in summer/fall. i'll remember about all the weird/insane stuff. if a major player gets the virus and it affects who won the cup, sure i'll remember and it'll provide CONTEXT to who won just like how injuries give context to games/playoffs/cup winners every year.

i don't need an asterisk to provide context. i'm perfectly capable of providing my own context.

anyway, sorry for the rant. NOT directed at you (and you don't want me to get into "legacy," because that'll set me off too )

good. whiny b!tch who complained about ice time when he was a fatty and out of shape. complained about the coach. left to go back home because he was .

a whiny b!tch is a whiny b!tch. let's not make exceptions for some players and not others (not at you but i remember the mccann discussions and even drouin in tb).

Meh, probably for the best. Would be hard to bring him over here with the cap uncertainties as they are – especially if he wanted more money.

Chatfield and Rafferty are both rookie right Ds, maybe JB thinks more highly of them? Gonna be interesting to see how it shakes out next year for the D. I think they'll resign Tanev:

Hughes – Tanev
Edler – X
X - Myers

Lots of competition for open spots between Rafferty, Chatfield, Breis, OJ, and Rathbone

There's no room for betas on the Canucks.
