I get that he's a KHL product with only having the one NHL year. But he's more developed then OJ, Rathbone and Rafferty the other candidates that will try to crack the line up next season. Not saying he's better. Complete different player then all of them in what he brings to the roster.

Yes and they should come up with a development plan for the players on the bubble to make the team next season. The way things are going there will be no attendance until a vaccine. Amateur leagues and AHL can't operate without gate revenue.

Maybe outside the box thinking is needed. Take the top prospects and form a team in a Euro league or make a deal with an owner who wants his club to move up a tier to take on all the Canuck prospect players that don't have a league to play in. All the signed players can at least be put on loan with out clauses. That could help if NHL starts up and there are injuries.

Unless of course NHL continues same expanded roster rules they have now for another restricted attendance to start next season.

Interesting.
I think the NHL and PA will come to some type of understanding, similar to what they are doing with this play-in thingy.
Teams will be allowed to carry 28 skaters and up to 4 goalies, with only the players that dress for any given game, counting towards the cap.
This would allow depth and top prospects a chance to still get quality ice time, albeit, mostly practised and it would give some cap relief.

Although, I still have my doubts about a season next year.
