Without eichel, do you really think he would be that good?

He has only 1 season over 50 points and just over 100 goals in 400 nhl games. With the best passer in the game feeding him the puck on the pp as well.

You are about to maybe give him 50 million over 7/8 years. You can see my concern. (The Sabres are way smarter and not going too in my opinion)

He failed as a center which forced the Sabres to trade for ROR and then trade ROR
He is non-existent for a lot of games and periods of games
For a "cerebral" player you would think he could play the position he grew up playing, and not being forced to ride the hip of a true franchise player. Being "cerebral" you would think he would be a 200 ft, 2-way player but he is not.

We are losing because we make stupid trades and drafted horribly. TM (frank)ed this team, Botts screwed up. People saying Rhino is a big part of are losing, then so is Jack. As long as his contract is not out of wack, unless there's someone else on this roster at RW that can give you 60pts a year, he should be brought back.
