Yeah, but we’d have to solve LD3 on the cheap though

Maybe Adams can get Pilut to come back if he offers him a guaranteed roster spot??

Defense would be something like:
Dahlin-Jokiharju
McCabe-Risto/Montour
????? -Miller
Gilmour

Borgen & Bryson start in Roch & are first call ups

Whatcha think about this?

Olofsson ($4M)-Jack ($10M)-Sam ($6.5M)
Skinner ($9M)-Cozens ($1M)-Boeser ($5.8M) (shelter w Ozone starts)
Kahun ($2.5M)-Henrique ($5.8M)-MoJo (can be a 2way line) ($4.5M)
Asplund/Routsalainen ($1M each)-Larsson ($2.5M)-Okposo ($6M) (lockdown)

- jdfitz77

Kudos as that's the best forward lineup I've seen yet, however, it's super expensive ($59.6M).

Add in your defense below ($15.6M), and you're at $75.2M. Call the goaltending duo of Ullmark and Hutton at a combined hit of $5.5M, and you're at $80.7M.

Close to the cap of $81.5M, but possible as they can chop the performance bonus that normally applies to this year to this year and next year.

Next year would lose the McCabe, Hutton, and Johansson combined cap of $10.1M.

That should cover the raises of Dahlin and Jokiharju along with extra for a 2nd goaltender and performance bonuses.

The only tweak I would make is to try and make a pair of savvy trades, such as Rasmus Aplund for MacKenzie Weegar or Matt Roy, to take the place of the remainder of either Ristolainen or Montour, that way I have my 3 defenseman to protect (Dahlin, Jokiharju, Weegar/Roy) for the expansion draft along with the forwards (Oloffson, Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, Boeser, Kahun, Larsson).

Ideally, they'd ideally somehow pull off the miracle and keep the 8th overall.

Dahlin-Jokiharju ($1M each)
McCabe ($2.8M)-Risto/Montour ($5M)
????? (Jon Merrill $1.5M) -Miller ($3.8M)
Gilmour ($1M)

I'd sign Jon Merrill, if possible, to a 2 year $3.5 total deal if he'd take it, then when McCabe leaves, Merrill and Bryson can handle the left side under Dahlin.

I'd still try to poach an RHD that is underrated, like I mentioned above.

Is it? I would not be so quick in your assertion.
Higher Depression and anxiety rates influence/contribute to other health issues including deaths from overdoses, suicides, etc.
I'm not saying it is 1:1, but it is real.
Business closing, high unemployment, bankruptcy, etc.
There are costs.

- IonSabres

One cost is all of the shattered small businesses that are disappearing around the country, and all of their employees becoming unemployed. The widespread financial ruin that full lockdowns cause can't just be ignored.

If beady is a married small town factory worker with 3 daughters, a dog, and a cat, and an admittedly geeky hobby of buying/selling mtg cards on Ebay to supplement his income...then, ok, I guess I'm beady. If beady voted for Gary Johnson the last 2 elections, wears his mask in public places, and pretty much thinks all people suck...then, ok, I guess I'm beady. If beady thinks you (jdfitz77) are an arrogant windbag, who regularly tells everyone how their ideas suck but rarely offers any relevant proposals of his own...then, ok, I guess I'm beady.

I like the roster, except it pushes the team against the Cap, so no flexibility there, resulting in money in / out transactions. Also, the then current year Bonuses rollover to following year as well?

You say that $10m can be used for Dahlin, Joker and Goalie, but how do you then replace Mojo, McCabe? Options would be ELC or cheap Vets on Min contracts, and then trading out Miller and/or Montour likely as well..possible I guess but very risky

Edit: forgot the Hodgson Buyout commitment of just shy of $800k in the computation. Trading Risto/Montour would likely need to happen if they were still available after Boeser / Henrique acquisitions...I didn't track back to see how that was done.

Common sense would dictate that when a pandemic is trending where you live you are more likely to seek out testing. The lowering of positivity rate in testing doesn’t say anything about the prevalence or spread of the virus. It says that more people who aren’t sick are getting tested because they are worried. You have a way of believing the spin and propaganda that is sickening.

Hospitalization and deaths lags behind the spikes in cases because it takes time for people to get sick enough to be hospitalized or die from the virus. In two weeks when the hospitalization and deaths spike you’ll be singing a different tune based on the newest propaganda trying to rationalize the terrible job the government has done.

Herd immunity takes at least 70% of a population to have immunity to be at all effective at mitigating the spread of a disease. Florida has more than 20 million people living there and less than 250,000 cases. You like to pretend to be the mathematician, so you tell me how far away from 70% that is.

Furthermore, there is anecdotal evidence that your immunity to coronavirus may only last a few months, which means that herd immunity may never be achievable with this virus. I haven’t read anything concerning a potential vaccine lasting in efficacy, but in my opinion this is a real issue with a vaccine as well. If our bodies aren’t keeping the antibodies from the infection, why would they keep the antibodies from a vaccine? This is all hypothetical, as there haven’t been the studies to prove that people’s immunity doesn’t always last.

As for your more testing more cases BS - Trump and his minions somehow believed that having cases in the US said something about him being a failure. His failure is the lack of testing that has allowed this to spread so widely and become a much bigger problem than it could have been. His failure is the delays in testing results. His failure is the restrictions early on preventing people from getting the test when they were sick because they didn’t meet the criteria. His failure is disbanding the pandemic response team that Obama had in place to deal with situations exactly like this and see it coming in advance and act early enough to save lives. This all allowed the virus to become a much bigger problem than it had to be.

Of course the US is going to have higher case rates of coronavirus than most other countries. We live differently than other countries. We have more disposable income that allows people to shop more, travel more, waste money hanging out in bars more, to go out to entertainment venues more. Of course we will have higher rates of infection than poorer countries.

All Trump had to do was say so, and the American people wouldn’t have held it against him. Instead, because everything is a contest with Trump, he felt he had to win the contest of having less cases than other places so he delayed and restricted availability of testing early on when this was starting to spread, and it has become a disaster because of it. Trump felt if it were harder to get tested, if we tested less people, then the numbers of cases would be lower and he would look better. This is the thinking of a child who can’t see far enough ahead to realize the consequences of their actions. This is the thinking of someone who cares only about themself.

Trump admitted on camera that he told his people to slow down the testing.

Trump is an epic failure. He is a moron and acts like a spoiled brat child. He is an embarrassment to humanity. The only thing more embarrassing than trump is that there were almost 63 million people stupid enough to fall for his crap and vote for him in the last election.

Thousands of people have died who would have otherwise not have because of the actions and lack of action by Trump.

South Korea and the US had their first coronavirus case on the same day. One country rushed to test as many people as it could while the other tried to delay testing to make the president look better. South Korea’s economy hasn’t had to shut down. Their people have open movie theaters, restaurants, schools and everything else. Their case rate and death rate is much lower than ours. That’s all leadership. They have good leadership, we do not.

All I can say is over the course of almost 4 years you can clearly see who is emotionally and psychological broken over this presidency. I very much enjoy a solid political discussion with the other side that at the end of it I learned something new and they did as well, shake hands and move on, but the hatred that I’ve come across with some is unbelievable, you can just see it in their eyes.

It’s quite funny about the stupid 63 million “Trump” or Republican voters. We are in a soft war with China and at some point it will probably become a major conflict, personally I’d rather take them out now so my kids don’t have to. But if China invaded the US, who’s going to defend it, oh yeah that’s right it’s those 63 million stupid voters, those deplorables, while probably half the left would flee or take a knee.

It’s sad. I get the dislike for the Yellow Man because he acts like a doucher. But the fact is he’s no better or worse than any other President. But people buy into the mob mentality so vehemently that it blocks their common sense.

More now than ever this nation should be open to bipartisanship but the left is too busy pointing fingers. It’s like the sky is falling and all the left cares about is blaming who they believe made the sky fall.

I truly believe that if Trump personally found a cure for cancer the Dem’s would criticize him.

There's finger pointing on both sides, and neither side admits it. The president is an ignorant (frank)ing degenerate moron. I truly believe his administration has done some good things for this country. I'm a centrist and I have no problem assigning blame or credit when it's due for both sides. I don't feel the need to specifically go into every issue and praise I have with not only both sides, but the POTUS himself.

If he cured cancer, I would vote for him to be Fauci's replacement. And I would give him credit. And I still wouldn't vote for him to be re-elected. And please, don't assume just because I won't ever vote for that cretin that I vote democrat.

I couldn’t agree more actually.

I’m a Republican. I voted for Trump but only because the alternative was worse. I would have rather chosen someone else. I voted for Obama the first time around but not the 2nd.

I’ll vote for whoever I think will do a better job. I’m not party specific. I try to keep an open mind.

I know it's just an opinion, but imagine if people were wired as a whole to simply keep an open mind. Vote for an intelligent man that has YOUR interests in mind, not his.

Things on the floor would begin with "hey, that could work, maybe we tweak this" instead of "YOU'RE (frank)ING SOCIALIST SCUM" and "YOU'RE A RACIST (frank)"

I voted Obama in 08 and Romney in 12. I didn't have it in me to vote for Trump, and I didn't even know he was half as poopty as I do now. Hillary is a legitimate criminal, so, like our friend Beady here, I embraced the Gary Johnson route.

Then, I got the "you wasted a vote" berating. Sorry, thought that was my American right. But you'll always get that from the losing side. Sorry I'm on a tangent.

I'd have to look very closely at Biden's policies before considering a vote for him. It sounds like he's willing to carry over some of the good that this admin has put into place. But the fiscal republican in me will push me back into the Jorgenson vote. Ah, the struggle.
