Let's be clear about one thing, I don't give a single solitary (frank) what you appreciate. The virus cases south of the border are not opinion based, they are pathetic. That administration should be ashamed, as should anyone latching on to the tit of his divisive distraction points diverting from as much.

not taking any sides here - but big countries have been struggling way more than small countries in restricting spread.
this is partly because the coronavirus spread to some extent has been very random - with several outbreak pockets in specific places, just because of the fact there were some superspreaders in place x or y (pure bad luck).
hence, there are bound to be high numbers in some places of the us - which make the whole of us look 'bad'.

US: so far 137k deaths. 328 million population.
EU: 446 population.
however, if you just look at Spain, France, UK, Italy and Germany - you come to 150k deaths. that's on a total population of 320million in those 5 countries.

so it's fair to say that all big governments have had little influence in on how coronavirus has been 'stopped' -- most have been very much luck (in smaller countries/regions) due to lack of spreaders ; and where there were 'hot pockets' most governments were unable to have any real impact on stopping the spreading.
