I may be completely wrong on this, but I seem to recall whispers back when he was a pending UFA that he didn't want to play for a Canadian team. - Atomic Wedgie
I thought he only wanted to play for a contender that’s why he’s booted the ducks.
I don’t recall anything about not wanting to play for Canadian squads. |

In 2017 he had a list of 12 teams he’d go to, Leafs and Habs were on it.

Robertson > Marchand at the same age. Suck it Ahjay! - Steven_Seagull
Looks to be a great pick by Dubas. |

What part of what I wrote is incorrect?
1. The guy expected rising salary cap
2. He signed players anticipating a rising salary cap to provide room to resign support players
3. The China CCP virus up ended the revenue stream that would raise the cap - kaptaan
Man I wish the leafs weren't the only team affected by the cap. Sucks that all other teams can freely go over thr cap, but only one team (the leafs) are bound by it |
|

You sure about that? - Steven_Seagull
Not that you said that, nope. Loooool. I always thought he did... |

Gudas can be very undisciplined with his penalty minutes. - Leafsandbolts
I know that.
But I’ve always liked him, he’s a big player who can actually play well.
Not the only D available that would come at a discount.
Justin Braun and Mark Pysk
I could see Dubas being all over Pysk. FLA tanked his value by playing him on the wing for half the season.
He’s could be a bargain. |

I liked Gudas when he played for Tampa. He's actually a serviceable d-man if you can keep his murderous instincts in check. Plus, that beard.

This is my concern with Gudas on the Leafs: we don't have too many murderers so, if we get one, he'll kick his rage into overdrive and take terrible, terrible penalties (a la Clarkson).
So what I'm saying is: we need two murderers to share the murderous load. |

Right now, $5 million per year for Freddie seems about right.
I wouldn't give him a raise, and I doubt any NHL GM would, either. - Atomic Wedgie
There's still a handful of teams (good ones) with space. Avs, Panthers and (gulp) Bruins could all offer AP a big long contract.
I think the big guys will get typical pay. The Arb rights guys will get paid too ...and so will the young guys. The middle of the pack UFA's will get squeezed. |

I'd be happy with that. If you're going to have nightmares thinking about it, just imagine other teams? |

In Germany in the Black Forrest there is apparently a hunt going on for a real-life John J Rambo going on.. He disarmed 4 policemen and escaped with their weapons into the woods.
I wonder if they'll televise the search for him if he's still out there tomorrow morning.. - MaximusAurelius
I heard it was Roope Hintz .. |

Hope Muzzisarek was taking it easy there. We need him to play big minutes on route to the Cup. - Byfuglien Ate Me
Looked to me to be a veteran with a guaranteed spot in the top four on the first day of camp vs a rookie looking to prove himself and get some playing time.

Kerfoot-Kapanen-Engval isn't a great third line but saying they are good enough to get you beat is stupid.
No teams have great third and 4th lines.
