I remember some reputable insider saying the Leafs have always been interested in Bennet. They almost traded for Jankowski as well in the Kadri trade...

CGY has cap space and I imagine they are one of those teams who woudn't mind the actual salary savings.

I'll take it a step further...

Kerfoot and Johnnson

for

Bennet and Dube

- Santo_44

Calgary can't do that due to their cap issues.

no but it should have been called out in the blog/ article
- kaptaan

But it's no different for Leafs then it is for any other contender. They all budgeted and they will all be impacted. We ALL know the smaller cap is a bad thing for the Leafs ...and every other team trying to win in the next 2-3 years.

Yawn.

so what you are saying is you are calling Mike out for not questioning whether Dubas is feeling the pressure regarding the cap.

ok

understood.

Cap issues? I think Calgary only has like 15 players signed for next season as of now. Could be wrong on that... But I don't remember them having much committed after this season. poop load of UFA's

How do you go out for Halloween as Buckwheat if you’re white?

That's their issue. The have 17mil for 4 defensemen, a backup goalie and 4 forwards.

Looks like they are fine at forward, and have a lot of work to do on defence:

A racist incident decades in the past when it wasn't exactly considered racist is a little different than a racist record in the present... But sure.

I am not a JT fan at all, I'd rather have him represent my country than that orange (frank)wit any day.

My next Halloween costume will be Pat.

Pat is a genderless, raceless, completely unremarkable humanoid being without any distinguishing features beyond being utterly annoying.

It's skin is clear, like a jellyfish, so all of it's innards are clearly visible, yet there is no discernible genitalia or reproductive organs of any type.

It offends nobody and is not offended by anything. It is the ultimate and final form of humanity. It neither he nor she. It is not brown or white. It is everything and nothing.

But what does it identify as?

I'll just go take my ban now.

Pat identifies as Pat, but you can address Pat anyway you like and Pat will not take offense or judge.

Take a look at basically any team in the league - we are all screwed.

It's going to be a very interesting November.

Not bad but the appropriate response was:

"Garnie, you creepy old (frank)! You were supposed to stop going out for Halloween at 12"

Actually, you know who might just make out OK?

Buffalo.

So many guys are going to be free agents - it's a chance to completely remake their roster, filling it with plenty of guys who will be looking for any contract they can sign.

I wonder if the "free buyout" was discussed as part of the negotiation on the extension. Leafs are actually better off without it. No bad contracts ...knocks on wood.
