My opinion would be that Willie is not a slam dunk 1st line winger, but he would be a 1st liner on a lot of teams...

I also don't think Barzal is a top 20 forward.

Id love to see Barzals extension before really comparing the two. I'd be willing to bet his camp uses Marner as a comparable, and I'd take Willie at 6.9 for 6 years before Barzal at 10+ all day.

Potentially that's an unpopular opinion, but I don't care. Willie filling the net at almost 2 to 1 to Barzal is better than paying an extra 3+ million for the short end. 🤷‍♂️
