I’m thinking in a last minute surprise move, they decide to keep the name, but change the logo to a giant potato. - Ogilthorpe2
'The Onion' had a story up a while ago. The name change is swapping out Washington for DC. |

Was looking at the Hawks twitter, and it looks like the "One Goal" slogan has been retired. Looks like they're using "All for one."

Just realized that Gilbert didn't make the cut. He was at voluntary practices so either the Hawks didn't like what he would bring, there's a health issue, or he's opting out for the RTP. |

I am curious if Carlsson moves ahead of anyone and gets in a playoff game. The experience factor is not as huge a factor now that Carlsson got in some games in the regular season. |

It is a 5 game series for the play in. I don't think that is the appropriate time to experiment.
Debrincat should go with Kane and Strome since it is a proven combination and it seems silly to not put your best finisher with you best play maker in a series that will be determined by goals scored not goals prevented. It also keeps guys honest on Kane since they probably wont leave el gato alone in the circle.

I didn't read through the last few pages of comments on the last blog, but there was some confusion about Mitchell burning a year or not.
Recently signed prospect Ian Mitchell, ineligible to appear in the playoffs, was also not included on the roster. The Hawks could’ve elected to burn one of Mitchell’s three entry-level contract years on 2020-21 just to have him practice with the team, like the Wild are seeking to do with Kirill Kaprizov, but decided not to.
So at least that is a good thing. - Chunk

Dennis Gilbert is oddly left off the roster in favour of guys like Krys and surprise invite Regula.
This is strange considering Gilbert played some NHL games and is under contract for next year.
Maybe we find out that he's opted out and/or is injured. |

Or simply not very good (certainly not very smart, evidenced by ill-timed penalties/fights). |

Idk, I thought Nylander, Strome and Kane were finding some chemistry before the shutdown. |

Line combos will change at least a dozen times between now and game 3.

I see zero D zone starts for line 2, unless they get stuck on the ice after an icing. |

Nice blog Tyler. And you are right about Crawford, but you didnt emphasize it near enough.
WITH Crawford, Hawks probably have close to a 40% chance of getting by the Oilers...without Crawford, having to go with Subban or Delia...well, you can drop that to about 10%. Outside of Kane....and maybe even including Kane....Crawford is the ONE guy they cannot afford to lose the most. Crawford, and a healthy and good Crawford is VITAL to the Hawks having ANY chance to edge past the "Oil"!!! |

Strome, Dinky and Kane should work but doesn't. When Kane is the best defensive player on a line, you got problems. Tippett won't be able to get McDavid or DrySaddle onto the ice fast enough against that trio. |
