The only one to play an nhl playoff game? - burn
Playoff experience only matters for players the Leafs are playing. |

That line is going to be sweet.
Johnnson can kick rocks on the 4th line. |

I'd imagine they will find a dance partner for a player in a similar situation
Lias Anderson comes to mind - Santo_44
Might be easier to just cut ties.
I sincerely doubt there is an AHL season next year, so why retain a reclamation project?

I think they have two good goalies and a good defense. I’m not the only one I’ve heard suggesting the Jackets could win. - RickJames77
Once the leafs learned how to play the islanders they just shut them down. They played to the islanders style and then capitalized when they could. Leafs have more dangerous threats when it comes to goal scorers.
I honestly think it’s an easy series for the leafs. |

He played back home in Sweden for 20 games last season.
He can stay there another year.
He is dealing with mental health issues...acquiring his rights would be a positive thing. |

I think talent on paper is going to really matter this playoffs.
It won't be all about a teams systems and identity. At least the 1st round. |

Jackets (sorry)
Pens
Canes
Isles
Flames
Preds
Oilers
Wild
Boston
Tampa
Washington
Philadelphia
Colorado
St. Louis
Dallas
Vegas - RickJames77
My guesses-
Leafs over BJ's
Pens over Habs
FLA over NYI
NYR over Canes
Calgary over Winterpeg
Edmonton over Blackhawks
Wild over Canucks
Yotes over Nashville
I don't know yet how it'll be seeded after, though, so I won't guess on them. But I did call Colorado winning the Cup in the prediction thread at the beginning of the season so I'll stick with them winning. |

It does make sense to me, but I could see CBJ scoring some weak goals. I think they'll score a lot of garbage goals - PatC80
That’s why Campbell was a great pickup.
I actually have a ton of faith in Campbell if andersen comes out of the gate sloppy. |

it should be a warning that we need to be better prepared as a society for the next pandemic. We should be on-guard for the potential of something far worse than covid-19.
A multi-faceted approach to prevention/minimization is required.
Ignoring underlying health and social issues will be a set-up for failure. - Tumbleweed
Some parts of the world made out better than others. If anything what you said is accurate south of the border. It's 2020, fix your health care system ffs. |

To all the replies to my CBJ comment, I get it, the leafs have a better team on paper. The two teams also had the same amount of points in the regular season and even Vegas has it as a relatively close series. I wouldn’t sleep on them. I could easily see the Leafs winning, but I think it’s close and I’ll take the better defense. |

Korpisalo and Mzerklins?
Koprisalo is an average starter and Mzerklins is a backup.
Their D is good and their forward depth is abysmal. With no Anderson or Dubinsky it is bad. - Santo_44
I mean, he's been a good player before, yeah, but he was ass this season. So even him in the lineup isn't a boost. |

We've seen what talent can do at the start of the NHL season...Teams like CBJ won't do well I don't think. This year wont be about systems. |

History has clearly taught us that recent Columbus teams are easily beaten. Especially by high powered offenses like Toronto or Tampa Bay.

He is the 2nd best forward on the team for me.
He has injury troubles this season. When healthy he is right after Dubois. |

Not sure what that is in reference to...just passing it on.
Have fun. - bruceflyers

The Leafs took 3 out of a possible 4 pts against Columbus this season. That "better defense" let in 7 goals against the Leafs offense. |

In regular times, that would make sense. But this is gonna be like the beginning of the season type hockey. And beginning of the season hockey is shoddy defensively. It's a time when offense shines.
Unless goaltending stands on it's head, I think (for every series, not just the Leafs series) there's gonna be a lot of high scoring games. And the Leafs wash Columbus offensively, which is why I see them winning. |

You are omitting one significant factor. Leafs were 4 and 10 with their backup goalies until they traded for Campbell. Even a mediocre backup probably results in 10-12 more points for the season.

but man, some of you guys are acting like there is like a 95% chance of success here.
5 game series. Anything can happen.
