I thought the top power play was Eichel, Olofsson, Reinhart, Dahlin, and Ristolainen?
- kingcong39

it was always eichel, olofsson, reinhart and dahlin

almost always

skinner started out on pp
then johansson took skinners spot

then risto took johanssons spot

then it was a mix of risto or johansson

I mean, based on how the power play performed last year, how could it be much worse?
- kingcong39

stop focusing on feeding olofsson would be a good start

once the other teams got the memo, the pp sucked

Lol at comparing who is better Sam or Boesser

How about just have them both and have two RW that are capable of putting up 60+ points

We got what it takes to get Boeser

Wait, they are moving Boeser?

- SABRES 89

Lol I 100% said the same thing on a different website yesterday

Why don’t they want to pay this kid?

Welp they could of had ehlers for Ristolainen now probably never
- gerbe75pts

I don’t feel too hurt for not having Ehlers. We need a center.

That's about the size of it. He plays with Pettersson, so the points will always be there.

His defensive play is surprisingly good, but if you wanted a player with mediocre on ice impacts and good defensive impacts, you'd just re-sign Girgensons (im not comparing the two just making a point about what he brings)

- Michael Ghofrani

He didn’t play with Petterson his first 71 NHL games where he scored 33 goals and 60 points.

While he isn’t a superstar, I think pretending like he wouldn’t be a tremendous help to the top 6 is kinda ridiculous (not saying you said this)

And he's gotten worse each year, im just saying its a troubling sign. If the price is the montour+prospect that someone posted then yeah obviously I'm all about that.

It's how much in assets will he cost, his $7.5M QO in 2 seasons, and can he stay healthy.

Obviously a Reinhart/Boeser swap would be about $, or Reinhart not really interested in being here long term. If that’s the case than it’s probably tough to do much better than Boeser for him. It’s a helluva lot better than a late 1st + prospect deal.

I think it’s a real possibility that it Reinhart is dealt it’s because he’s not interested in being a Sabre much longer, rather then the organization not realizing his value

You're basically kicking the can down the road 2 years if you trade Reinhart for Boeser, and Boeser has a large QO after 2 years.

Sure, but if the organization knows Sam doesn’t want a 4+ year deal, then I’d be fine with the swap.

If their were better options on the table we could debate them, but as of now we know (or rumored) that Boeser is available

and you replace a kid that has never been injured for a guy that missed 1/6 of the games the last 3 years with injuries

as much as half this board dogs sam, adding boeser to the mix for our 4 wingers in the top 6

skinner
olofsson (got hurt in rochester as well)
boeser
reinhart

only the skunk avoids the IR shelf on a regular basis

I'd still move montour all day long to add boeser

- homiedclown

I don't know why you would move Rhino for Boeser, that really makes no sense. Good Post Homie

If they did trade for Boeser what assets do they use for a 2nd line center they have needed since ROR and discovered before that Sam wasn't one?

Also, it’s sort of funny how people will admit Sam and Boeser are close, with a slight edge to Sam, yet Boeser will get tagged as over rated, while talking about how under rated Reinhart is.

Odd

They used the 7th overall pick in 2019.

What's odd is your post

Boeser is statistically better
Close but slight edge to boeser
Boeser seems completely underrated
Sam seems overrated.

Its cause Sam is a Sabre already.

Rose coloured glasses.

I’ll never get over not drafting Leon at 2, nor will I ever think Sam is worth the asset we used to draft him.

However, he is a top 6 forward and hopefully we get him at the proper cap hit and he remains a Sabre for the foreseeable future.

I would move Risto + Mitts for Boeser

Not sure what’s odd about it. I’m sticking up for Boeser. For some reason he’s being labeled as over rated by the same people labeling Sam under rated, yet those people are admittedly calling them “close”.

It’s just exaggerated

Nearly every Sabres fan would make that trade, which tells you it's almost assuredly not something Vancouver would accept.
