Well, almost officially out of a job
Boss just told me he tends toward closing his company in 2021. He's giving himself the next few weeks to make a decision.
Still on furlough, and chances I go back are slim now.
This is just a great year overall really - stinger67
You'll find another one stinger, don't sweat it.
As my late used car salesman brother used to say when he got fired, "I was looking for a job when I got this one"..

sorry to hear stinger. the economic fallout from this is not going to be fully felt for a while still and it's going to be a (frank)ing disaster. i feel like we're all in a bit of denial about this. - DoubleDown
The real fall out is gonna be paying off the debt that pinko lefty is handing out like candy at a (frank)ing parade.. |

not good news at all, but on a positive note at least you have some time to find something else... Getting a 2 weeks notice would've been
really poopty - Pat1993
Yeah, I guess so. Just feel really poopty right now, and a bit lost. I have no (frank)ing clue what I want to do next |

Yup. The Feds have spent the most since ww2 and we haven't even bailed out the cities and provinces yet. All this before we see what a potential second wave in the fall that conicides with the flu brings...and that ignores the warnings we have about new swime flu, new plague, etc. 2020 is a reckoning waiting to happen |

it may take a couple of days before it becomes clearer for you. (frank) it. Its an opportunity, maybe, to pursue your passion.
Try to stay as positive as you can.
But yeah. it sucks. |

speaking of poor performance, I learned today my old boss (that I really truly despised, a real (frank)ing female genitalia) is leaving... I was kinda happy to learn that.. - Pat1993
A poopty person leaving is amazing. More people quit as a result of poopty people they report to than any other reason. People can deal with poopty hours, poopty pay, poopty jobs, but poopty people tends to be a bridge too far. I used to audit businesses and 9/10 times my advice was to management to stop being so poopty to the people below them. Listen and show appreciation and you'll be amazed at the change in moral and results |

This, a million times, which she was truly lacking... I actually switched teams because of her, I figured I wasn't being paid enough to put up with her poop. If you're gonna have a poopty attitude, at least you better know what you're doing and be good at it, which wasn't her case lol |

Construction
I've done a bit of everything...Project management, valuation, gofer, buyer, warehouse management, even did some billing with the company. I was really a Jack of all trades there.
I have no idea if I want to pursue on that field or do something different |

No, I never worked in civil. All our projects were mostly indoors renovations, in the institutional sector |

I also would gently remind them keeping quality employees or even giving a minor raise is a (frank) ton cheaper than finding a competent replacement. I'd even told some owners to move out management because it would be cheaper than replacing whole teams that they've lost due to being poopty people. How you treat people reflects greatly on you, best run companies treat the lowest paid employees the same as they do their VPs |
