it is very very likely though that out of 24 teams, at least 2 to 4 will eventually drop out of the post-season due to # of infections.
if a team has 5-7 infected people, they might not even be able to ice a competitive line-up.
and if one of the older people on the organization (let's say a coach or a doctor or an equipment guy) ends up in hospital - i'm quite sure eventually the players say it's not worth it and they just step out.
i'm looking forward to 1st of August start of hockey - but I think it's highly unlilely there will be a SC winner end Sept/early Oct. - MaximusAurelius
I'm not disagreeing with you or Mussel, but the players know the risk and they feel it's safe. I personally think it should be cancelled, but all sports leagues are moving forward. If the players feel it's safe, then I understand their position. I just don't agree with it though.. |

They are both centers and generally only play together on the PP.
My point being that the Leafs need Matthews more than Marner. - PatC80
Probably true.
But the fact is we need them both. If someone was struggling offensively, Marner is the one who can give them a tap in goal or two to get them going.

Is it a head shake that you wouldn't trade Kerfoot and Holl for Kilngberg or a head shake 'cause Dallas wouldn't do it?
'Cause I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. |

So that Canadian 41 year old broadway actor who got covid:
Ended up with bloodclots everywhere
Had to be put into a medically induced coma
Had to have a leg amputated
Was being considered a candidate for a double lung transplant before he died
I don't get why people are (frank)ing around with this disease still
Cancel the season - TheMussel
Should've happened a while ago.
I can't see many hockey players saying no to playing like some Baseball players are, though. |

You Fellers NEED to try a Peanut Butter Olive Burrito. Fan (frank)ing tastic
Chunky Peanut Butter, thinly sliced green martini olives in a tortilla. You’re welcome. - DrunkenCanuck
I love peanut butter as much as the next guy but I could never stand olives.
I like toasted peanut butter sandwiches with cucumber on it. |

Money talks
Its foolish, but i have a feeling the season wont be completed anyway. Theyll start up and most likely have to stop.
Toronto was stupid to allow it to be a hub city.
But again, it needed money |

Imagine even one NHL player ends up in critical care due to covid which they contract during the playoffs? |

Any of y'all watching CP24?
You see this muscle fool with the tattooed neck and with what I guess passes as a shirt, protesting the mandatory masks?
I feel like they chose him because people will judge him. |

Not black olives. That’d be gross.
Peanut butter, bacon, old cheddar on rye is also fantastic |

I hate masks. Hate wearing them. I got a bigish beard and it makes breathing a bit difficult and my glasses get fogged up with every breath I take.
If I can wear a mask, then no one else has an excuse. |

And people with mild cases that have symptoms recurring for months. This could be a chronic thing in some people. It could be a thing like chicken pox that stays in your body and reactivates as shingles. We don't know. People are (frank)ed. |

I don't like any olives.
That doesn't sound bad but I always feel like I'm wasting rye bread if I have peanut butter with it. I love me my cold cuts on rye bread. |

Bro if surgeons can perform a 42 hour face transplant while wearing masks then I don't know what's preventing people in the general public other than completely lacking in mental and physical fortitude as an individual |

Put on CP24 and the muscle goof story will cycle back on in a bit. Listen to his reasons for not wanting to wear mask.
It's crazy. |

I don't remember who it was (Bieksa maybe?) but someone said that almost every player they've talked to said that they're not overly comfortable with playing but because of the "hockey mentality", they'll go along with it. |

Not speculation. I believe it was eric engals who said many players he spoke to who did not want to be named would prefer not to play. But wont say no to playing. |

Eric engals.

Even said the calls with the pa have been a complete joke and have only concentrated on financials.
Apparently most players dont feel comfortable with playing. |

on theathletic it was reported that most players were very keen on getting back to hockey.
engels - isn't that the habs writer?
i can imagine habs players not being particularly fond of running all that risk for just 3 games.. |
