Anyone ok with letting Marky walk?

Run with Demko & sign a decent back up to save some cap. Too risky or a step backwards or just say eff it & do it?

Something has to give. Just sit back and embrace the meltdown!🤣

Fireable offense picking stars.

You clowns seriously don’t get it. It isn’t the stars that are the problem with the job Benning has done, it’s literally everything else. Do you honestly think that anyone who thinks Benning has done a poop job is sad that Leivo will walk as a UFA? You and your flunkeys make this place a hilarious space to lurk.

Nice to read things like this🙌👍

Sadio Mane, The Liverpool Star from Senegal (earning approximately 10.2 million dollars annually),has given the world a lesson in modesty after some fans spotted him carrying a cracked Iphone. His response is legendary:

"Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches and two jet planes? What would that do for the world? I starved, I worked in the fields, I played barefoot, and I didn't go to school. Now I can help people. I prefer to build schools and give poor people food or clothing. I have built schools

- VanHockeyGuy[and] a stadium; we provide clothes, shoes, and food for people in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people from a very poor Senegalese region in order to contribute to their family economy. I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips, and even planes. I prefer that my people receive a little of what life has given me," Mane said.

Brilliant!

They produce at a very similar level over an 82 game schedule, there’s really no benefit that makes the team that much better imo.
- Pacificgem

Don’t give a poop about the leafs so I’ll ignore that.

Canucks have $30,474 in available cap for the remainder of this season and that’s with using $2.3m of LTIR to stay cap compliant.

Next season they have to sign Marky, either sign Tanev or replace, and either sign TT or let him walk. The rest are RFA (Stecher and JV) or inconsequential scraps with no significant cap hit.

It looks to me that choices are going to be made based on cap compliance rather than specific need or to increase roster depth. To me it’s going to take more than the loss of Leivo to balance the books.

With Canucks injury history we’ll need NHL quality depth to stay competitive, especially if we are to be top 10 like some have suggested on here.

We need to luck out on some ELC's and pray Loui and Sven see the light and decide to walk. That's a pretty big ask for the Hockey Gods.

Well that is just stupid and shows what people know.

There will be about a dozen team that will have to shuffle money around meaning they can not sign some of their players. Those same players will be looking for employment and be willing to take less money. A player like Barrie who last year was looking for 8 mil may this year be accepting a deal around 3.5 mil.

I love when people think Canucks are the only team affected by the new changes.

Are the Canucks up against the cap? Ya, for the most part. Is it going to cause some adjustments/loss? Ya, probably. Is it possible to move players, even if you have to throw in a small incentive, to help the cap situation? Yes, completely.

All this extremism thinking is crazy making. It's not 100% cap (frank)ed, it's not 100% cap glory days.

The NHL just pulled 5 million dollars off the table for the NHL. They announced in Feb that the cap was going up to 84.5 mil instead of 81.5 . They were also going to increase it more so players would save on escrow.

The world changed in March not only in pro sports but for everyone on the planet . I am pretty sure it is Bennings fault.
