Being able to predict injuries is a hell of a skill!!
- Brooks_Light

No one else took him because he had a history of concussions. That is why Benning (absolute genius) was able to swoop in just before training camp starts to sign one of the more coveted free agents in the market. Not hard to predict it might that he might get concussed again in a fast, physical sport.

I will be extremely, extremely, surprised if they actually get this thing up and running...as of right now I just don’t see it happening.

I not worried about it until they start playing hockey again in 2-3 years.

That should give Benning & Vantel enough time to figure out the cap.

Still a good signing IMO. Looks like he is healthy (fingers crossed) and has shown he's got good skill to complement his abrasiveness. The Ferland contract isnt a problem, either he's on IR or he is a great middle six player.

Benning has signed a bunch of bad contracts, but Beagle and Sutter are the only ones we are currently carrying IMO.

Looks more likely Rathbone could sign 3/925k

JB: sorry Loui sending you to Utica
Loui: but their season might be cancelled
JB: be safe

Might be a good idea to wait an see the final product if there is one next year.

With the stagnant cap I’m curious if the league & PA have something in store for us. They must be hammering out more that might address that I’m hoping.

I won't disagree because it is a 50/50 chance . What though is the difference between July and January that would make it safe to start a new season? I think if you are cancelling now you are pretty well saying goodbye to next year too.

Don't expect compliance buyouts. It would only add on to the lost revenues and escrow payments .

@ Belcherd

Not trolling for Bites

Marky 5
Toffoli 5
Gaudette 2
Zack .800K
Tryamkin 1.5 ( Benn on waivers -1.1)
Briesbois 600K
Stecher 1.5

There will be some kind of trade this year and that is where the other Dman will fall into place. One of Jake Brock or Pearson will not be coming back.

I don't care about the Mottes Leivos

But you should...important for the cap whiners lol

It doesn't matter what name I put up there someone will will not be a fan.

It is the same nonsense year after year where fans and media complain against the cap. Last summer the whole offseason we had the daily crying about the cap and how screwed we were and 2 weeks before the season started the went out and signed Ferland.

- VANTEL

Ferland signed July 10 last year. He can be a huge difference maker if "truly" healthy. He is kind of a wash either way, as it's a great addition to the 3rd line or LTIR. The cap will be sorted and I agree one of Jake, Brock or Pearson will be traded.

If Ferland stays healthy then it will be a good addition. Canucks have a good set of forwards and need to adjust the D . I think we have 3 D prospects that will help over the next few years but I do expect a big move for a Dman.

He was signed July 10th....right before training camp and you don't think there were other teams interested? The kid said he was fine and his physical confirmed it. Are injuries likly in sports - yea no sh*t...its not that cut and dry

What about Crosby and his multiple concussions (he's missed over 100 games) - how is he still playing? you think that's gonna be a factor if a team tries to trade for him or when his contract is up?

Wasnt Sven expected to never play again? How many times did we hear "next hit will end his career" last summer?? Injury free year.

Tanev - hasnt played a full season in his 10 year career - you don't think there's gonna be teams wanting to sign him?

What about players that come back from Cancer - Lemieux, Kessel, Boyle, Koivu - that kid on Philly Lindblom just completely his treatments. Gms gave them all contracts after their return - even with the chance of remission.

But great argument btw

Hey now, if Lefty and others here can use hindsight or revisionary comments to complain about Benning, Marwood can use future unknown injuries.

It suits their narratives or they wouldn’t be here purveying their crap.
