if I'm Ottawa I think I keep the picks... and Lafrenière is such an obvious fit in Montreal, everyone's happy. - Pat1993
I'd fear that whole scenario... the french kid, in Montreal, expected to be an immediate savior? It could go sideways fast... I'd be excited for sure but worried at the same time!
.... and you get a potential star C and star D instead of an elite W!
Just sayin' |

it's Montreal, there's always a risk poop goes sideways, and that fefans over-react (they will, no matter what lol)... I think with his talent though he would be totally fine, and it would maybe entice other Québécois players to play in Montreal

You're right but you know as well as I do that the hype would be off the charts, like we've never seen before
And like i added to the other post, star C + star D or elite W?
And I'm really not advocating for one side or the other, just having the conversation from the other side... and I might add that if Bergy lands #1, there's absolutely no fawking way he moves it! |

They would entertain the idea of a Tkachuk/Lafreniere combo for years to come |

I guess it depends how far ahead Lafrenière is compared to others in terms of talent, I'm not aware how deep the draft is supposed to be...

I think Byfield is the general consensus, but I heard Drysdale or Perfetti could be picked higher than anticipated.. not sure what direction LA is taking and what their needs are

Yea, everywhere I check they have Byfield going 2nd.... most have Stutzle 3rd!
If they could get Byfield 3rd and Drysdale 5th, it could be a very interesting deal but it's a huge gamble obviously |

Yes.
Tim Stutzle, LW, Adler Mannheim (DEL) – The best German prospect since Leon Draisaitl, Stutzle was impressive at the world juniors (where he played center), but he also looked great against men back in the DEL. So much skill and upside.
Note playing in German Mens League.

I don't care about the 2 others OTT would trade. Habs did not have a french star since...
since...
Lafleur? over 40 years ago
not counting Roy, I meant a forward |

Richer, Damphousse... but yeah I guess Lafleur was the last true "étoile du Québec"

Damphouse for sure!!
But really, it doesn't matter where they are from, only guarantee that comes with drafting Lafreniere is a billion jerseys sold in 24 hours.... that conversation doesn't even belong anymore! |

main reason I brought up Richer is that he's the last habs to have scored 50 goals, which is really sad... |

did Damphousse lead the league in scoring? multiple times?
I'm talking stars here, not very good players.
please. |
