He's ok, probably the salary has something to do with it. Makes about twice as much as Couturier who is probably better and about the same as Giroux who is definitely better. Racking up assists on that line is great, but lets face it scoring 20 or less goals on that line for $8.25 M isn't a bargain by any stretch.

nobody is debating where main part of Nylander's goals came from this season.
I'm laughing about you comparing JVRs in-close scoring to Nylander's in-close scoring - while from the same areas, these are 2 completely different things.
I'm not a JVR fan at all - but JVR is scoring those in-close goals in a completely different way than Nylander.

Nylander 9 out of 10 times is just left open because of opposing team focusing on better players (Marner/Matthews/Tavares) who then pass him the puck for an easy tap-in (while not being covered).

The one where he backchecks and strips the opponent of the puck at their blueline, he gets it back to the D, D passes it back to Nylander for a 2on1, Nylander shoots and scores.
