Sid is practicing. Rutherford said he doesn't expect any Pens player to sit because of health concerns. Letang said he's playing.

Just heard Price is considering sitting FWIW.

Thanks Mike.

McGuire or LeBrunn (not sure which) just said a little bit ago it was 40/60 for Price.

Just read on DK's site. Zucker is still in Minny, Riiki is in Finland, Schultz and Hornie are absent. Seems like the rest of the team is here.

Interesting. Did it say anything about goalies?

I don't blame him or any other player for sitting this out. If just one player gets it, it will spread like wildfire and could have serious career (and life) implications.

Anyone but NYR and to a lesser extent CHI, please. I should probably care more about other teams in the conference, but I'd rather not see Chicago with another dynasty anytime soon, especially after the Hossa contract business and Kane's magically cured injury just in time for the playoffs. But really, anyone but NYR. God I hate them.

I checked that article too. Zucker just arrived in Pittsburgh.

Seems like with Hornqvist and Schultz we just don't know because as noted in the article, nobody knew several guys were in town until they happened to be in pictures the team released.

If the Rangers add Lafreniere to their core, I won’t be a happy man. They’re amidst a pretty good rebuild and they have some talent.

Plus, Yknow, I can’t stand them. The Rangers are my most despised team in all of sports.

That being said, they could be pretty decent soon if Kakko matures, and if they add the top pick, pretty decent is a lowball estimation.

Yeah, I fear them the most in the coming years. Their young goalie looks like the real deal and Zib is in his prime. They really need to not get this pick.

The odds were exactly the same if the season finished and teams were slotted based on points. This only gets crazy because we have the play-in and a team that would normally be in the playoffs gets a 12.5% chance now of getting #1. I don't get the hate, yeah it would be kind of stupid if Toronto gets knocked out then wins the 1st overall pick, but we are in unprecedented times with a Pandemic and you can't just say only the 7 teams get a chance because if the playoffs don't actually start, then the 8 teams in the play-in round get screwed.

I'm all for changing the lottery format so the bottom 5 teams have a better chance, but the odds were what they were and people are only complaining because a 100 point pace team could get knocked out of the the Play-in and win the #1 pick.

Yeah, the teams that could get it, including us, over a team that really stinks is why there is more hate this year. If whichever team had that 2.5% chance won not as much discussion.

I support a lottery, but the worst team shouldn't have that big of a chance of dropping 3 spits, so I'd be ok with it tweaking.

Well, we probably won't be contenders much longer anyways, though we probably have several years of mediocrity before we completely sink.

I think I'd still pick the Canes over the Rangers, but both teams look to be building powerhouses. Rangers need to fix the left side of the defense and Carolina eventually needs to settle on a goalie.

Weren't the odds of a team in the play-in round really the combined odds of teams 8 through 15, so roughly 24%, and not really just the odds of Team E?

Imagine the NHL blog-osphere going bananas if the Pens somehow lost to Montreal and ended up with pick #1.
Certainly dont want to lose the Playoffs but what a consolation that would be.
Truthfully, as Long as NYR, NYI, and NJ dont get it, its all good.
Cant Stand Philly or Washington, but they cant win. So as long as he can avoid the NY markets, I'll call it a win

carolina, too

They lack a goalie, but they already have a great defense, and now youd be adding Lafreniere to Aho, Teravainen, Trocheck, and Svechnikov.
