I tend to agree with your assessment. Game 4 and on, Mitch just wasn't the same player at all. Not sure if he was playing through injuries but it was such a bizarro world version of Marner that I'm still not sure what the hell happened to his play.

Having said that, I do think Mitch is overpaid by maybe 1M but I think there's worse contracts on the team and that extra mil isn't worth quibbling about long term. What do you think he should be at?

Also, one wonders if Babs signed long term killed some hometown discount desire players might have had...

For sure. I thought he was playing with an injury but I don't think he was? I don't remember anything coming out after they were eliminated.

I think he should've topped out at $9.5M. Every single comparable player makes less than that. He's obviously great and it's better to give more to the better players than the bums, but it still would've been great if he got paid in his slot.

I think that just might be the case, regarding Babs. If they knew he was a problem then it should've been addressed earlier.

I would argue that CBJ have always been better than the Leafs. This includes, of course, even before the NHL was actually a thing.

I'm pretty sure there are some hieroglyphs in the Great Pyramid of Giza that documents this.

Some people suggest that there is evidence of this even among the oldest cave drawings. If I look at the picture below a certain way, I can kind of see it.

Matthews lead the team in goals and points, he wasn’t a problem.

Kadri getting suspended (again) really (frank)ed us.

Does ottawa trade picks 3 and 5 for 1st overall?

If say leafs get 1st overall I think that would be an enticing offer.

I'd be more wondering if it could shake Chabot loose
