All those guys got market value when they signed it. That's why you sign young players to long-term deals and hope they turn out as good as you hope. Ekblad is an example of a player that got too much and hasn't lived up to the hype.
Leblanc was just stupid. If he has an agent he should be fired. It blew up in his face. |

Although the theme is to only concentrate on what the main stars make, the cap # is about the entire team. Many of those "Steals" are on teams that are ruining it by overpaying supporting players. |

So what franchise that is on the brink will be gifted the first overall? Florida? Or Phoenix? - AdamFrench

Oh boy good luck with those conspiracy theories..
The worst NHL franchise for the NHL to have stars has won the most lotteries (Edmonton). |

Please give examples on how that is true for Wpg, Colorado, Bruins, Flyers. |

Bruins: Charlie Coyle
Flyers: JVR, Hayes, Voracek (Leafs were very smart to not even attempt to keep JVR)
Colorado and WPG have done solid jobs thus far. We'll see if it continues. Laine is a big concern. The 2 year bridge was not a great sign. |

Whatever team wins it needs to trade it to Montreal. Habs will pay a Lindros like package for a french star. - RogerRoeper
The habs dont have a lindros like package to offer |

I'm a fan of Nylander, I would not trade this guy if I were you guys!! but he makes 6.96, if you are going to round it off call it 7. its still a good deal. |

It is a good deal. If any other team signed him to that deal it would have been a non issue. |

although i'm still somewhat bummed that if the season was just cancelled ( which it still might be ) the Jets would have won the lottery. Now knowing our luck, we will beat Calgary, they will hold the lottery for Laf immediately after the play in round without us and then cancel the season during the next round of the playoffs
with that said, If the Habs offered
Suzuki
2020 first rounder ( 9th OA ), 2-2020 2nd rounders
2021 - first rounder
and another prospect or 2
I'd take a long look at it!!! but I'd love to see Suzuki as Winnipeg's 2nd line center. |

Kyle Connor makes 7.1, some Winnipeg Analytic folks complain about this one, Ehelrs makes 6 ( this is a steal of a deal) but overall not too many people complain about these deals. Nylander makes exactly what he should. |

I got the notification for Season 3: Episode 68 today. Interesting that TOG and Shonen Jump releases new chapters on the same day.
That’s exactly why I refuse to read HxH. Don’t care how good it is. I’ll just wait for a second anime season, like I do with NGNL...been waiting a long time... I was young then... - Steven_Seagull
ToG is supposed to come out Monday but it usually pops up a few hours before, since Webtoon does this fast pass thing.
You can read HxH up to chapter 339 and it's like you get a whole story (think that's where the anime ends). The next arc after it, which if it ever gets finished, should be incredible, though. |

Ekblad has been really good, all things considered.
Concussions (frank)ed him bad. I feel like he's been really good the past season +. |

debatable.
it's not just regular season points you have to base salary on.
nylander has disappeared in playoffs and in general is invisible when it really matters.
he's a good 2nd line scoring winger + pp specialist.
sonsidering toronto's roster weaknesses, the salary cap, and other players on the roster - 6.96 AAV for a 2nd line one-dimensional player is a luxury they can, but should not afford. |

His contract when he signed it people were saying something totally different.
But now his contract looks to be an excellent deal for the Bruins. |

Sorry but a guy who's never had a sub 60 point season in a full year is not a 2nd line player at all. He just had 31 goals, 59 points in 70 games and was PPG with Keefe as coach (Just simply getting the ice-tiem he should have always had). In afull year this is a player that can get 80+ points.
The facts and stats do not agree he's a 2nd line player at all. In fact the very idea he's 4th or as you would claim 5th best Leaf forward shows how fantastic the team's talent is. He'd be the best forward on a number of teams. |

Nylander cap hit does not equal his cap hit. Only the cap hit matters I guess. |

I love how Leafs players by ages 21 and 22 are judged by their playoff stats and lack of series wins but it's just fine Barkov and Eichel have never sniffed the playoffs. No one cares.
