Hains: Lafrenière with the Habs? It Could Happen!

The lottery has come and gone and Lafrenière is still none the wiser about his destination.

screw the nhl. such a bush league run by effing idiots. the virus has suddenly given a pathetic team like the canadiens a hope and a prayer. the price? no chance to win the lottery and a 50/50 chance to draft 16th. the only saving grace in all of this is that with all their big plans and bravado, the nhl will never start up. too many positive covid cases will derail all these idiotic "plans."

the canadiens deserve to be in their rightful place as one of the worst run and one of the worst performing teams in the nhl. if us fans had to suffer through another bergevin/Molson nightmare, we should at the very least expect and deserve our consolation prize. a top 8 pick! no matter what!!

sorry, idiot. they would have drafted 8th at worst and would have been a lottery team. that's the best case scenario for a true fan of this organization. stop being a "dead" brained chicken and smarten up. this phoney reward for being the 24th worst team in the nhl is nothing more than bettman giving loser managers like bergevin and owners like Molson a playoff game or 2 b.j.

except the fact that if they were officially in the lottery, the team with a 2.5% chance would have won pushing montreal to 9th regardless and now that they are in the play ins have better odds at 1st ovr if they lose

what a genius you must think you are. surprised you haven't found a cure for the virus yet. the canadiens were the 8th worst team in the entire nhl. they earned a lottery pick. if a, b, c and d happens yes they could end up in a worse position than they actually should be. but just as easily, they could move up to a much better position.

the point is that as a habs fan and having put up with another effed up futile season, I would rather have a shot at a top pick and not some money grab 50/50 shot at a 16th middle of the road pic or worse. all that it would take is the canadiens winning 1 series against a penguins team that was 15 points ahead of the canadiens in the standings. imagine them drafting lower than us?

it's b.s.

Thing your ignoring is that the odds they would have had didn't win anyway. The lottery balls aren't heavier when associated with a team. That's reality.

Sure them winning against Pitt is possible and could be concerning. The possibility of 1st overall is still alive. Maybe react after the play-in series.

Ideally, the season finishes and we don't have a mutant lottery, or the season is canccelled and we already had the draft.

I just hope if montreal loses to pitt and if they win the lotto that rob is equally furious about the process as he is now and disavows the selection.

so I guess we're gonna argue about this poop until we know the habs' ranking in the draft so that one side can say "told you so"
