Furthermore, the lottery will be solely for the first pick. If the Habs are in the lottery and do not win the 1st pick, they will pick 9th and no lower as they are the team with the lowest win percentage in the play-in round.

Actually teams 8-15 were used by cards A-H.

Team A-H had a 24.5% chance at drafting first.
Montreal had the best odds at 6%.

So technically there’s a 25% chance that pick would have belonged to Montreal now
