Not for me.

Before the season I had him above Lafreniere... Right now I have him 4th.

Tell me more.

Who you got 1-5?

I just realised that LAK have 3 - 2nd round picks.
A bunch of their prospects are forwards too.

So, the Canucks will win the 5-game thingy against the Wild, and Minnesota will draft first overal

Ya, that's what I am wondering.
No idea how they will decide on it. I gave up trying to figure out the nhl stupidity years ago.

Freidman just said a few minutes ago If no playoffs the 8 teams (Pts %) will have an even weighed draft

My rankings are always pretty controversial... I鈥檓 really really high on Stutzle & Raymond. Somehow Raymond has become underrated - I don鈥檛 get that.... I鈥檓 more comfortable underrating Byfield (& I鈥檓 not even low on him). This is just a super stacked & exciting top of the draft.

1. Lafreniere
2. Stutzle
3. Raymond
4. Byfield
5. Rossi

As long as my math isn鈥檛 off, which is possible, the 8 through 15 teams in points percentage at the pause are: 8. MTL (.500), 9. CHI (.514), 10. ARI (.529), 11. MIN (.558), 12. WPG (.563), 13. NYR (.564), 14. FLA (.565), 15. CBJ (.579).

I love this.

As of now, the Canucks will either play for the Stanley Cup or get a 12.5 percent crack at first overall (assuming games are played). I haven't looked it up yet, but I think that percentage is higher than what they had in tank years. I'll dig that up for the next blog.

For now, here's my rundown of tonight's Draft Lottery mayhem, plus the winners and losers...

Actually pretty close to what I read on SN (Sam Cosentino), he had Byfield at 3 and Raymod at 4.
I could see Ottawa taking whatever forward is left at 3 and Drysdale at 5.

We had a 6.2% shot in 2014 and lost.

We had a 13.8% shot in 2016 and lost.

We had a 35.2% shot in 2017 and lost.

We had a 23.3% shot in 2018 and lost.

We had a 16.0% shot in 2019 and lost.

We have a 12.5% chance in 2020 and do you think we're going to win?

So any 87.5% chance we don't get it?
Just checking.

Good read Carol.
Strange days.

So, is this right?

Worst case scenario - the season does not resume, Vancouver is considered a 'playoff team' and thereby gives up its 1st rounder from the JTM deal. We also likely unable to resign Toffoli.

Not the worst case scenario - the season resumes. Vancouver loses the opening round robin thinger and gets a 12.5% chance at selecting 1st overall. Otherwise, we'd pick somewhere between 8-16 in the first round and the compensation for JTM would move to next year.

Best case scenario - the season resumes, Vancouver beats Minny in the first round robin thiger and we actually get into the playoffs, gain experience and make some noise. We again, lose the first rounder to NJD (via TBL).

I think those would be the total odds of moving into the top 3, not the first pick on its own. Those odds have never been (much?) above 20% for even the last-place team in recent years.

I didnt want to see exceptions here in Canada for the playoffs but I still don't understand how the players who test negative and operate in a bubble is a threat to transmit to the rest of us when there is going to be no spectators in the arenas. Every day commercial traffic is crossing the border and all they are doing is looking for a high temperature before letting them cross from the worst country for covid to Canada. That should concern people more.

I think best case scenario is a healthy Canucks win the Cup, Loui gets the winning goal and then the next day traded .

It will be a close call between Marky and Hughes, they might have to share it..
