Drysdale, Sanderson probably both gone by 7. Still a good chance Holtz is on the board still. I just don't want Raymond or the goalie there, and they are both real possibilities.

It'll be interesting to see how teams prioritize players though with how deep the draft is. Some teams when you're getting to the 5-10 range might have their lists ordered really differently.

If they both go on a long playoff run it hurts us too. 2020 blows.

Ironically they may not even get the play-in / playoffs in. That’ll be crazy.

- Queenie_5_hole

Agreed. What's crazy is the odds don't change if the playoffs aren't played. So Chiacgo basically gets screwed while teams on the fringe get a bump.

We could still get 3 decent picks. A bummer we won't get a top 3 but I expected 7th. 9-11th sounds good too. Who's likely to be there at 7th? I bet raymond falls.. and we take him. I'd be ok with perfetti.

I really like Perfetti, would be thrilled if we get him.

I'd rather see Perfetti or Rossi over Raymond.

Probably not the time for this, but Friedman just now on our coaching situation, "I have heard that Ruff has a really legitimate shot at that job."

Me too, which is why Raymond will fall to us...and we'll pick him over Holtz.

He's he only one desperate enough to get hired by a team without a general manager.

Gosh wtf. I know it depends what the coaches want too...but if they're interviewing for the job, then they must be willing to accept an offer.. Which makes me feel like we're gona put out a low offer to all od them, and whoever is desperate enough to take it will get the job.. And that man is Ruff
Why do I assume this of our owners? Because WHY ELSE on the planet earth would Ruff even be being considered?? It's not based on coaching ability, because the proof is in the pudding. Its because of money, which tells you everything. We're effed.

I hope that shot turns out just as legitimate as Detroit getting a lottery pick.

So with the US back on track to be closed down again in a few weeks, I'm not sure I follow what happens if they have to cancel the season Do just teams 8-15 in points wind up in the second lotto?

Yup all teams 8-15 in points % when the season ended would be entered and all would get 12.5% chance to win the pick

A couple short quotes from Fitz' conference call:
-He says, "the team would consider trading one of our potential additional 1sts should the opportunity present itself." When asked what it would take to trade one of them he gave the cliche, "Theres no definitive answer. You just dont know until it happens."

About our own pick, he says, "We know we're going to get a really good player. I know i sound like a broken record, but it's a deep draft, and definitely deep in the top 10."

Oof.

8- Montreal
9- Chicago
10- Arizona (we lose the 1st until next year)
11- Wild ((frank) them still)
12- Jets
13- Flames
14- Rags (nightmare)
15- Vancouver (we automatically lose the pick til next year)

So and already loaded team like the Jets or Flames could get #1, 2 shots for us to lose a first and the Rangers get a shot.

It’s my understanding it’s the eight worst point percentages OUTSIDE of those teams that were in playoff positions based on point percentages at the pause. So VAN and CGY would have been in the playoffs, hence they would not be lottery teams.

Important update.

what do you have against the Wild? I always liked them as the Devils out West. This massively multiplies the stupidity of 5th seed teams being in this play-in round. It's also pretty darn dumb that out of the 8 teams that lose, there isn't at least SOME weight put on their actual regular season points percentage spots. It shouldn't be 12.5% across the board.. at all. .. especially if a team that would've been in the playoffs happens to lose the play-in round. Absolutely asinine. Screws up the league for the next 15 years with this franchise player potentially going to a loaded team. So so stupid. so stupid. Someone give me that job so I can get paid 6 figures to not know what I'm doing. just dumb.

so..
1. stupid team- Laf
2. LA- Byfield
3. Ottawa- Stutzle
4. Detroit- Rossi. I think they take Rossi.
5. Ottawa- Drysdale. They can't possibly pass him up, right? Chabot and Drysdale?
6. Anaheim- Perfetti
7. NJ- Raymond. It screams Raymond. But is he really that much worse than Holtz/Perfetti?
8. Buffalo- Holtz to crush the game with Eichel. Or maybe they trade the pick..
