NY got hit at the very begining of the pandemic, over 3 months ago. noone knew anything about the virus at that time. NY is a very big city with people travelling from all over the workd. not saying they didn't make any mistakes, but they managed the reopning very well and are now in a much better place because of it.

southern states now spiking are more rural, they had 3 months to see it coming, they could have learned by experience, listen to the CDC recommendations (not Trump's ones obviously). this could have been avoided. easily.
