it was really interesting though. there were a bunch of different territories who all ran individually and would help each other by loaning talent back and forth but then would stab each other in the back by turning around and buying promotions out from under each other too. - kicksave856
was wrestling a bigger thing back then in terms of interest and revenues, or is it the same thing today?
I bet they often used that behind-the-scenes drama to set up fights... if not they should've loll

Well, he was a great wrestler, but apparently an ass as a person, as I've been reading. It's honestly a shame. - Darksyde
that sucks... but false accusations are also a thing...? unless he already admitted lol

lol yes. i've been gradually riding the bike longer and longer each day so my legs wouldn't be too shocked and sore because i had literally just been sitting still and eating for weeks leading up to that thing being delivered. |

kayfabe pretty means keeping storyline and feuds going outside the arena. Like don't go drinking after the show with the guy you just had a cage match with. |

it's hard to compare because it's so different now.
it was bigger locally. all of these southern and western states always had wrestling to go see live. promotions ran tons of house shows to drive revenue. ticket sales and gimmick table sales.
now they just concentrate on the tv product. wwe doesn't even want to go back to running house shows after the pandemic. |

yes. small buildings where they'd just pack em in. like, in the 80s, wwf and wcw would do house shows at the civic center in philly but at the spectrum if it was for tv.
smaller promotions' house shows would be in real tiny arenas or even armories and high school gyms.
house shows. it was just how you made money back then. |

no no. i am going to stick with this for a while longer. you can reintroduce some now, but you still want to avoid carbs like the (new) plague.
it's gonna be quite a change for me not eating wawa sandwiches and pizza all the time.
EDIT: oh, and the lack of bEEr is destroying my soul from the inside out. it hit me around saturday how bad i missed beer. |

he probably went through a little "shame" period before getting to fame... also, I think it was a bit taken out of context, the guy didn't actually mean he believed everything in wrestling, he was just sad about the current situation or something |
