Well, talented teams – such as Washington – often outperform their metrics because they have the skill to do so. The Devils don't so I feel like a steady dose of low percentage shots will lead to poor results, as we have seen in recent years - Todd.Cordell
But how do we know that low percentage shots=bad coaching vs bad players? It just seems like there is a whole lot of information missing to make a "good" or "bad" judgement based on the info provided, especially when the results don't really match with what happened. |

Florida and Vegas have had good-very good rosters over the years, and Gallant has had good-very good seasons. I feel like he may have even squeezed a bit more out of those teams than expected based on the rosters. I feel less confident in that with the other coaches, even if Lav did win a Cup. I agree with a previous statements that I don't think Lav has much of a shelf life. Ruff I feel has unimpressed annually since the Briere/Vanek/Drury days. Is it because of those teams? Because the game has changed and he hasn't adapted? Because he's continued to age while players stay young?
.. and yes, God and Allah are in fact the same deity. They're different names in different books but yes identifying the same God. The difference comes into play with Muhammad vs Jesus. |

I probably prefer Gallant but I don't think there is a huge difference. But I do think people are being really picky about Lavy. He makes the playoffs almost every year (yes with better teams than we have but still), he's won a cup, been to the finals two other times, players like Staal, Giroux, Voracek, and Forsberg have developed under him. If we pass on him what's our other option? Take a shot in the dark that some rookie coach is the next Quenneville? Obviously there is Gallant but who knows if he even wants to come here.
Ruff shouldn't even be a part of the conversation. |
