They ordered any traveler they took information from to quarantine. They never followed up.

The only way NY can really enforce it is for people to rat out their neighbors.

- buffalofan19

The order itself will keep people from travelling to those states. Tbh, I can't blame those governors. They just went through hell to flatten their curves and took a huge economic beating. I'd play it extremely safe.

They also had the national guard boarding planes arriving from places in those states, so people who took connections were safe too. Even the people that did get their information taken by the authorities weren't really checked up on. No state has the manpower to do it. New York is going to have the same issue as Florida did. It's more muscle flexing than anything else.

Btw, for all the talk of Florida's rising cases, the average age in now in the 30s, which means their risk of death is lower than dying in a car accident. Its hospital capacity is still higher than it was in March. Your state will be fine.

- buffalofan19

https://www.businessinsid...-beds-ahead-july-4-2020-6

The number of new cases reported by day in Florida have more than quadrupled since the state began reopening on May 4. Nearly 5,500 new cases were recorded on Tuesday, a new high.

I'm sure even if the average case was in their thirties, they'll totally steer clear of any immune compromised/elderly individuals.

They aren't fine. They are suffering the consequences of not taking it seriously

It's amazing. Brazil, Texas, Florida all blowing up because leadership didn't take this virus as serious as they should have.

Edit. Forgot about AZ

23 states going ip...46% of the us.
Many, many countries are going up.
Wait for the major cities to go up in about 3 weeks after the riots.
It will go up all over as a resukt of air travle increasi g again.

But I was told that the riots were fine (even peaceful) and Covid wasn't allowed so it went to Tulsa to infect Trump supporters.

That's not true, at least for the Capital Region, as I know people who were quarantined, and they each received a visit from the local Sheriff's office on day one to deliver the paperwork that explicitly outlined the guidelines.

They took down their license plates for tracking purposes and said they would be subject to a heavy fine if their car was found to be anywhere but their driveway.

They also received a call every day for 15 days, at a different time each day, to their home phone. If they did not answer, a Sheriff would pay a visit to make sure they were home.

All this rabble presumes lockdowns and quarantines are (a) effective and (b) enforceable.

Beyond that leap of faith, just because cases are going up doesnt mean hospitals are overwhelmed. In fact, a large majority are probably asymptomatic. But we'll likely never find out because most governments and media get off on fearmongering.

But you go on believing that the so-called experts are correct....they have such a sterling record thus far..

Should have taken the fine...then they would have standing to attack the constitutionality of that horse poop.

Just cancelled my flight.
Wife's debating about going or not.
- no car
- no home phone

Seems like a waste sending officers to follow up, but whatever.

The people in the were positive cases/identified contacts, were they not, back when the amount of tests were severely limited? In essence, they came forward themselves. Now try identifying everyone traveling into the state, of which the number is multiples higher than those being tested. Good luck with that.

At least the protesters were outside with a vast majority wearing masks. That mega-church rally in AZ, complete with the pastors gleefully extolling the virtues of an ionization system that supposedly kills 99% of Covid-19, is crazy. Btw, said system was a product of a church member.

7 out of every one hundred tested in FL are positive for the Covid. The number was holding kind of steady at 5.3% for a while, but now is daily rising a little bit.
Of almost 1.67 million tested, a little over 109K positive for virus.
