Yawn. Wake me up when the Sabres get 30 G scorer Kubalik aNd Strome from Chicago for Risto. Were you drinking drano again when you claimed your insider told you it was happening?
- Hatboro_Swords

Never said it was happening, never said it was Risto involved. Buffalo tried to get Strome and Kubalik in a deal 2 weeks before the deadline, said Buffalo should have never tried to get Kubalik included, should have just went after Strome and that deal just for Strome was suppose to be revisited in the offseason. So go back to visiting with TM.

Stacked offense actually works against players sometimes. In Toronto the offense didn't run through him nearly as much as in Colorado. Tavares and Nylander handled the puck more, Kerfoot was mostly relied upon for other things like defensive stability.

If Kapanen hadn't taken a major step back, Kerfoot would probably have stronger offensive numbers while he was his centre. Although the usage of that line was kind weird to begin with.

And by stronger offensive numbers im referring to GAR/WAR as they are linear stat lines. His XG has been consistently good IIRC

- Michael Ghofrani

what i'm getting is that he'd be a solid if unspectacular 2nd-line winger and a very good third line center while his 5'10" 185 lb. frame also contributes to his top-nine, tweener role

we aren't picking in the top 5, trade the pick. We need NOW rather then LATER.

That is very good candy by the way.

Johansson also didn’t fit well with Skinner and would have maintained that production I feel if he played with Olofsson and Kahun for an 82 game sample size.

Kerfoot is a stronger defensive player that makes up for Skinner’s inefficencies in his own zone (much like Larsson did during their stint together which happened to be Skinner’s most productive stretch of this season) while bringing 40 point capabilities.

- Pegullaville

he never played a 2nd-line center role...and, are you sure about that skinner production?...he/johansson/sobotka were on fire early on

unless the sabres win the lottery i think they should try and trade the pick. whoever is there at when they pick wont be helping them for a little while. they need to help eichel now.

yeah and I believe there are plenty of metrics that show he can be effective at helping the Sabres in that role.

But his point totals are not my area of focus, that particular stat is what im calling arbitrary.

- Michael Ghofrani

How are point totals arbitrary when we drastically need more scoring?

Points literally equal scoring

I’m not saying he’s sh!tty
Just that we need a better 2C than him

This is where u need to realize that the analytics are incomplete, and use common sense

Toronto is loaded at forward with scorers,
and he struggled to score there
And they didn’t even like him at 3C,
so we shouldn’t entertain putting him at 2C here

The only way u can justify that is if u really think he’s a 60point player who was just stuck behind Tavares & Matthews

I just don’t see that outta him
He could be a good 3C
But at 2C, i think we’re just asking for more disappointment

i get that they're trying to project his ceiling and the contributions he could make in that role on buffalo...

i'm skeptical...but then again, i'm not as fully invested in analytics as they are so i don't fully see what they're getting at

i think we will know at 4 where DET is picking. they basically a 70 percent chance picking at 4 or 1 with 50 percent of that being at 4.

Adam's should be meeting with him to see what he looks like, review his workout program so far and lay down tough love expectations for the upcoming season...
20 pullups, 100 pushups, lol..

- IonSabres

Agreed
I still think Mitts has the talent to be a good top6 player
So I’m not calling him a bust yet
But if he’s still not putting in the work,
then idk that he ever will

Sometimes players just click together or styles work together. Seems like Kerfot style might work with Skinner, just like Mojo or Sobotka did, but could be wrong.

I can picture it now.

We trade the pick for a guy who ultimately helps in the short term. Perhaps we break the playoff drought next year and have relative success. That player’s production then starts to fall off a cliff because we are most likely not getting a player on an RFA contract.

While the 7th overall pick nets you one of the high end forward prospects who does take 1 year to develop. Then that said player makes the NHL the following year then becomes a top 6 piece of the core for his new club, and the Sabres fan base watches that player have a strong career wishing that we would have just kept the pick.

Even if ALL this is true...
Playing Kerfoot at 2C is the same dumbass mistake we’ve been making since we could “easily replace ROR”

If you could get your hate for Risto out of your mind, then maybe you’d realize that we need a better 2C than that if we wanna make the playoffs

- jdfitz77

Why are you so locked in to him having to be a 2C??

He’s undeniably good

Guess it all depends on who that player you're getting back for the 1st, gotta be young enough to be around for a few years and be part of the solution.

I hate living here. Sabres are an absolute train wreck full of dumpster fires, Bills are looking up but we all know what will happen, taxes are ridiculous, they assessed my house at 2018 MARKET RATE, and Brown will be reelected, as well as Cuomo, Schumer, Gillebrand, Poloncarz, and every single other idiot. Jesus H. Christ (also remove all His racist statues while you're at it, according to a white guy).

Just moved to Tampa in March.... love the atmosphere, people are actually pretty cool (except for the moronic protesters attacking the police). No state income tax and property tax is at least half of what we paid in NY. Florida 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, with a pool and conservation behind us. Tax just over$5000. NY 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1/3 of an acre...$11000 in property tax. Couldn't be happier.
And the Lightning are pretty good 👍
